111 domestic and international flights daily arrive in Da Nang

Da Nang's tourism sector recorded strong growth in the first 6 months of 2023. During the 6-month period, the number of arrivals in tourist accommodation establishments was estimated to reach over 3.5 million, representing 83% of the full-year target, 2.1 times higher than in the same period of the previous year, and  a rise of 4.4% as compared to 3.35 million tourist arrivals during the same six-month period in 2019. In which, an estimated 930,000 were foreigners, reaching 182% of this year’s target, 11.3 times higher than in the same period of the prior year, recovering to 62,3% of that of the same period of 2019 while an estimate of more than 2.57 million were domestic visitors, representing 69% of the full-year target, up by 67.7% over same period last year and up by 38.2% over the same period in 2019. Revenue from accommodation and travel-related services was estimated to reached VND 6,231 billion, an increase of 99% over the prior corresponding period, and a rise of 12.2% compared to the same six-month period in 2019.

The city welcomed 68 MICE (meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions) with a combined total of 21,000 visitors, of whom, 45 were international delegations with a total of 7,000 delegates, and 23 were domestic delegations with 14,000 delegates in total. The positive outcomes of Da Nang’s tourist sector were mainly attributed to the city’s great efforts in launching its marketing campaigns in such countries as India, South Korea, Japan, Qatar, UAE, Thailand, Indonesia, as well as attracting international familiarisation (fam) delegations.

Currently, a combined total of 15 international routes and 8 domestic routes are operating from the Da Nang Airport. During the 6-month period, the city welcomed an estimate of more than 3.17 million passengers on 20,000 flights operated. On average, there are 111 flights daily to Da Nang, of which, 68 were domestic flights and 43 were international flights.

The Da Nang International Fireworks Festival (DIFF) 2023 is considered a "push" to help Da Nang bounce back to pre-COVID-19 levels recorded in the golden period of the city’s tourism. DIFF has contributed a significant part to Da Nang's tourism recovery in the first half of 2023. Generally, the over a month-long festival attracted more than 942,000 domestic and foreign visitors, an increase of 29% compared to DIFF2019.
