Conference held in Da Nang to promote export of goods
The Da Nang Department of Industry and Trade in collaboration with the Asia-Africa Market Department and the Europe-America Market Department, both under the Ministry of Industry and Trade, organised a conference on connecting trade and promoting exports in Da Nang on Friday.
Some enterprises signed memoranda of understanding to support export promotion, and product consumption cooperation at the conference. |
Present at the event were Deputy Director General of the Asia-Africa Market Department To Ngoc Son, along with representatives of leaders of the Departments of Industry and Trade of provinces and cities of Laos, and domestic and international businesses.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the conference, Director of the municipal Department of Industry and Trade Le Thi Kim Phuong said that Da Nang is one of five centrally-governed cities to hold an important position in terms of politics, economy, culture, society and national security in Central Viet Nam and Central Highlands regions in general as well as the central key economic zone in particular.
The city is one of the important gateway to the Pacific Ocean of Central Highland Region, Laos, Cambodia, Thailand, Myanmar and Northeast Asian countries through the East-West Economic Corridor. The city has a favourable geographical position, rich tourism resources, and a convenient inter-regional and regional transport system.
The city is constantly making efforts to realise the goal and orientation of turning itself into one of the major socio-economic centers of the country and Southeast Asia, and a marine economic hub. It assumes the role of a gateway for forwarding and transporting goods with localities and countries in Southeast Asia and the world.
The conference provides an opportunity for businesses and production units to meet, seek partners, and expand markets. |
As part of the ongoing International East-West Economic Corridor (EWEC) Trade and Tourism Fair 2023, the conference aimed to update information on the situation of foreign markets, and trends and opportunities for export market development. It offered the good opportunity for participating businesses to meet and seek potential partners, strengthen the promotion of products and brands, connect trade and expand export markets.
At the same time, the conference contributed to supporting enterprises to participate in the global production, supply and distribution chain of goods, and building a close strategic cooperation relationship between Vietnamese manufacturers and exporters and foreign distribution systems; as well as effectively exploiting traditional markets, especially member markets of free trade agreements that Viet Nam has signed.
During the event, a number of participating businesses signed Memoranda of Understanding in support of export promotion, and product consumption cooperation.
