The Union Mart was officially inaugurated on Me Linh Street in the Hoa Khanh Industrial Park, Lien Chieu District, Da Nang, on Saturday.

The supermarket has more than 15 stalls selling a full range of dried food and essential consumer goods sold at 5%-10% lower than those on sale in the local market for trade union members, workers, and employees working in industrial parks in Lien Chieu District.

According to Chairman of the Trade Union of the Da Nang Hi-Tech Park and Industrial Parks Nguyen Thanh Trung, the purpose of the supermarket model was to promote the ‘Welfare for trade union members’ programme in a bid to create favourable conditions for trade union members, workers and labourers to enjoy preferential prices on essential commodities during the difficult economic period.

To mark this occasion, the municipal Confederation of Labour presented 50 gifts, each worth VND1 million, to poor workers.
