As planned, a project on building a coastal road connecting the soon-to-be-constructed Lien Chieu Port with National Highway 1A (a bypass route to south of the Hai Van Tunnel) will be completed and open to traffic by late 2025.

The coastal route connecting to the soon-to-be-constructed Lien Chieu Port has a length of nearly 3km, a width of 30m and 6 lanes, allowing vehicles to run at a speed of 60km per hour.
The coastal route connecting to the soon-to-be-constructed Lien Chieu Port has a length of nearly 3km, a width of 30m and 6 lanes, allowing vehicles to run at a speed of 60km per hour.

This is one of the important items, connecting the soon-to-be-developed Lien Chieu Port with the national transport system as well as industrial zones citywide.

According to the Da Nang Management Board of Priority Infrastructure Investment Projects - the investor of the coastal road project, the starting point of the project connects with the route outside the Lien Chieu Port, whilst the end point intersects with the Hai Van - Tuy Loan bypass to the south.

The would-be route has a length of nearly 3km, a width of 30m and 6 lanes, allowing vehicles to run at a speed of 60km per hour. The construction cost of the route is expected to be VND1,203 billion. More than VND700 billion of the figure will be funded by the city's budget capital in the medium-term public investment plan, whilst the rest will come from the national budget.

The purpose of the project is to provide strategic access to the operation and construction of the soon-to-be-developed Lien Chieu Port, give fast and safe connection to the national transport system and urban transport in the area, and reduce the negative impacts on traffic safety and landscape environment in the port’s construction area.

At the same time, the project will help promote the formation and development of subdivisions at the Lien Chieu Port, attract investment in the city, promote the local economic growth, strengthen investment efficiency of projects, connect the Lien Chieu Port to the Lien Chieu Industrial Park, Da Nang Hi-Tech Park, Da Nang Concentrated Information Technology Park, and other local industrial parks, and meet future transportation needs, especially the flow of goods from Lien Chieu Port to all directions and vice versa.

According to Mr. Le Thanh Hung, Director of the Da Nang Management Board of Priority Infrastructure Investment Projects, up to now, the preparatory works for the project are almost completed and waiting for the commencement date.

It is known that the consortium consisting of the DACINCO Construction Investment Limited Company, the Phu Vinh Construction Company Limited, the Deo Ca Transport Infrastructure Investment JSC, the Xuan Quang Construction JSC, the Nhat Huy Xuan Quang Construction Joint Stock Company, and the Viet Nam JSC is the contractor for the project.

A total of 255 households are required to hand over their land lots to the project's developer.

Recently, the Lien Chieu District authorities have informed the policies of the State and the city on site clearance, compensation and resettlement for families involving the implementation of the project.
