Da Nang promotes tourism in Indonesia
The Da Nang Department of Tourism, on Friday, introduced local distinctive tourism products in Jakarta, Indonesia, with a focus on the Meetings, Incentives, Conferencing, and Exhibitions (MICE) tourism, golf and eco-tourism, cultural heritage, culinary experience, nightlife entertainment, and prominent events and festivals.

The event saw the attendance of Vice Chairman of the municipal People's Committee Tran Chi Cuong, Vietnamese Ambassador to Indonesia Ta Van Thong, and more than 100 guests who were representatives of airlines and travel agencies in Da Nang and Indonesia.
Speaking at the event, Vice Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Tran Chi Cuong voiced his belief that the event will open up many opportunities for the both sides to strengthen their cooperation, connection, and promotion of opening flights between Indonesia and Da Nang in the coming time, hereby contributing to promoting the development and growth of economy in general and the tourism industry in particular of the two countries.
He described Indonesia as one of the potential tourism markets that Da Nang is particularly interested in because the city has welcomed a large number of Indonesian tourists in recent years.
Vietnamese Ambassador to Indonesia Ta Van Thong shared that Da Nang had a wide range of tourism products suitable to the tastes of Indonesian tourists. He affirmed that the Embassy of Viet Nam in Indonesia will support the city to promote the rapid opening of direct flights from Indonesia to Da Nang.
During the programme, the delegation of Da Nang received a lot of attention, information exchange and answers from Indonesian travel businesses.
In particular, Indonesian travel businesses showed their keen interest in Da Nang's support policy for MICE delegations, and at the same time requested Da Nang to add more prayer rooms and invest in Halal-certified restaurants to serve Muslim customers.
On the occasion, the Da Nang Travel Association and the Indonesian Travel Association signed a cooperation agreement on exchanging tourist sources and promoting air services between the two localities.
