Since the Da Nang People's Council issued Resolution No. 82 implementing pilot models of exploiting tourism services in combination with agricultural, forestry and aquaculture development, Hoa Vang District authorities have deployed a number of green tourism models and products, thereby increasing agricultural economic value, creating jobs for locals, and diversifying the city's tourism products.

Located in Hoa Phu Commune, the over 50,000m2 Bana Rita Glamping Farm is known as a green farm and becomes one of the inviting eco-tourism sites in Hoa Vang District.

Aside from the organic green grapefruit and Vinh orange gardens with more than 300 trees, and many other types of fruit trees, the Farm provides experiential camping services and extracurricular activities combined with life skills training for students.

Also, there are services preparing local dishes from vegetables, tubers, and fruits harvested at the gardens.

“We are deploying areas for displaying and selling typical agricultural and OCOP products of communes in Hoa Vang District, aiming to promoting organic agricultural products, increasing agricultural economic value, and diversifying tourism services in a bid to serve the needs of tourists” Mr. Le Thanh Tuan, the owner of the Bana Rita Glamping Farm.

In the Nam Yen Village in Hoa Bac Commune, the fruit growing model called "Nam Yen Valley Vineyard" associated with experiential tourism is very attractive to both locals and visitors.

According to Mr. Le Quoc Hien, the owner of the model, agriculture combined with tourism is an effective solution to increase the value of agricultural products, and is very suitable for current trends.

When coming to Mr. Hien's garden, visitors will have the opportunity to experience nature next to the fruitful vineyard.

“In the coming time, we will carry out the grape-picking model, allowing tourists to experience picking grapes and enjoy the fresh air" Mr. Hien said.

Currently, Mr. Hien's over 8,800m2 garden has many types of fruit trees, in which the highlight is more than 500 grape trees with 4 popular types of nail grapes, seedless black grapes, peony grapes and candy grapes. The best time to visit the vineyard is from April - August.

“The garden owner will be the one who directly picks the grapes and invites tourists to try them. Along with that, we will organise workshops on making grape cookies and raisin cupcakes on weekends, and drinks made from grape nectar" Mr. Hien.

He revealed that he is renovating the garden and developing a number of combined crops in order to form a professional agricultural tourism experience model, including growing many unique and "strange" fruit trees such as wax bananas, guava, giant custard apple, and purple longan.

"The farm also gives priority to facilitating schools and groups to visit and experience. Hopefully, in the coming time, the model will become a potential destination to serve tourists' needs to visit, experience services, and admire natural landscapes, thereby promoting the development of sustainable organic agricultural tourism in Hoa Vang District" Mr. Hien emphasised.

Mr. Nguyen Thuc Dung, Vice Chairman of Hoa Vang District People's Committee, informed that four models have got approval from the Hoa Vang District authorities to deploy tourism services in combination with agricultural, forestry and aquaculture development. Of this, three models have been operating in the locality, namely the An Phu Farm, the Banarita Glamping Farm in Hoa Phu Commune, and Nam Yen valley vineyard.

All models create on-site jobs for about 25-30 locals, helping to consume the district’s agricultural and OCOP products.

In the years ahead, the district authorities will continue to evaluate similar projects in accordance with the principles to replicate the model effectively, serving community benefits, Mr. Dung noted.
