The Ministry of Transport has announced a list of 296 seaports that are divided by locality instead of region.

Specifically, in the northern region, Quang Ninh has 14 seaports, Hai Phong 50, Nam Dinh 3, Thai Binh 2, Thanh Hoa 10, Nghe An 7, Ha Tinh 6, Quang Binh 4, Quang Tri 2, Thua Thien Hue 2, Da Nang 8, Quang Nam 3, Quang Ngai 8, Binh Dinh 4, Phu Yen 1, Khanh Hoa 17, Ninh Thuan 3, and Binh Thuan 6.

In the southern region, Ba Ria - Vung Tau has 47 seaports, Binh Duong 1, Dong Nai 18, Ho Chi Minh City 40, Long An 3, Tien Giang 2, Dong Thap 3, Ben Tre 1, Vinh Long 3, Can Tho 17, Hau Giang 2, Soc Trang 1, Tra Vinh 2, An Giang 1, Kien Giang 4 and Ca Mau 1.

In addition, a number of new ports are added to the list, including a port of Van Phong 1 BOT Thermal Power Plant in Khanh Hoa, a specialised port of Nghi Son 2 Thermal Power Plant, a port of Gas & LNG Development Project and auxiliary types of petrochemical refining in Nghi Son EZ in Thanh Hoa, the Trung Nam Ca Na international seaport in Ninh Thuan, and the Hoa Phat Dung Quat port.
