Diverse gift market for Vietnamese Teachers' Day
The flowers and gift market is bursting with a variety of products offered at reasonable prices to meet the shopping needs of parents and students on the occasion of Vietnamese Teachers' Day (November 20).

Some fresh flower and gift shops on such major streets as Ton Duc Thang, Le Duan, Le Loi and Dong Da have been seen displaying discount signs on the occasion of November 20 to attract more customers.
This year, customers tend to choose to buy practical gifts at reasonable prices, including souvenirs, gifts, fashion stores, cosmetics, etc. Such gift items as cosmetics, clothes, shoes, ‘ao dai’ fabric and ties are still kept at stable prices.
Taking advantage of the weekends, Mrs. Nguyen Thi Thu Ha, a lecturer at the Da Nang University of Architecture, took her children to choose gifts for their teachers on the occasion of Vietnamese Teachers' Day (November 20).
Mrs. Ha said that she prioritised choosing practical products such as pens and notebooks for her children as gifts to express their thankfulness to their teachers. Compared to last year, this year's gift items are rich and diverse with prices 5-10% cheaper after applying promotions from stores.
With fresh flowers, many stores display new flower models with different prices to facilitate customers to choose.
The retail prices of regular roses range from VND6,000 - VND8,000/ apiece, whilst yellow roses are being sold at between VND10,000 and VND15,000/ apiece. Flower bouquets cost from VND250,000-VND1.2 million/bouquet, while flower baskets are being offered between VND450,000 -VND2 million/basket depending on the types of flower, and the number of flowers.
Mr. Truong Cong Lap, the owner of Tommy Flower flower shop, located in Tan Chinh Ward, Thanh Khe District, said that customers' shopping trend is to choose affordable fresh flowers priced at VND350,000-VND500,000/product. Therefore, this is the strongest consumption segment at his store.
Ms. Pham Thi Thao Vy, the manager of the Thang Bom stationery store located in Hoa Khanh Nam Ward, Lien Chieu District, said that the number of shoppers has increased sharply in recent days. Compared to last year, the number of this year’s customers increased by 15-30%.
