Mr. Huynh Thanh Quang, the Deputy Chairman of the Hai Chau District Business Association stated that the association now has over 500 members and 13 ward-level branches. The association has organized numerous practical activities that have attracted a large number of entrepreneurs. Notably, in 2023, the Association yielded positive results from its two ongoing projects.
The first project is the volunteer initiative named "An Artwork, Plentiful Hopes" at the Da Nang Oncology Hospital, featuring such programs as 'Singing Together' that brought joy, laughter, and encouragement to cancer patients and their families in a bid to uplift their spirits, and alleviate their pain, in addition to giving gifts to the patients.
The second one is the community initiative named ‘Socialization of Public Toilets - Comfort as Home,’ that attracted the participation of 500 businesses along with trading establishments located in 65 locations in Hai Chau District. Till date, a combined total of 300 places have officially displayed the logo ‘Comfort as Home’, and they are committed to serving tourists.
Besides, instruction signs were installed in three places while a mobile app on both Android and iOS was launched to help locals and tourists search for free public toilets, and choose a facility close to their location.
In recent times, members of the Business Association of Hai Chau District actively participated in various programs, such as the training program "Female Entrepreneurs and Digital Skills in Business," which was co-organized by the Enterprise Development Agency under the Ministry of Planning and Investment and UN-ESCAP, the Viet Nam Women's Union, the Viet Nam Women Entrepreneurs Council, and the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Furthermore, they also supported the campaign “Vietnamese people give priority to using Vietnamese products”. Moreover, linkages between association members and businesses in Uiwang City, Gyeonggi Province, South Korea have been developed.
Besides, the association members have been active in getting involved in numerous charitable activities. Included were the ‘Spring of Love’ program to offer gifts to local poor people, cash donation to the District Office of Education and Training to support disadvantaged students, gifts offered to children at the Centre for Agent Orange Victims in Hoa Vang District, the Da Nang Center for Children with Disabilities, and the Hoa Mai Orphanage Centre, and more.
Sessions of the ‘Entrepreneur Cafe - Workshop’ provided the opportunity for the association members to get together and provide mutual support, as well as connect and cooperate with businesses located in other districts of the city under the motto of "connection - opportunity - development."
Recently, the association organized a meeting between businesses operating in different industries in Hai Chau District and the Hoa Xuan Business Association in Cam Le District. The intention was to introduce and promote key products of participating businesses. The focus was on providing mutual support in consumption of their products while exclusive discounts were offered to members of the association. As a result, numerous cooperation agreements between member entrepreneurs and their partners were signed for their proactive and long-lasting collaboration.
According to Mrs. Huynh Thi Cuc, the Deputy Chairman of the Business Association of Hai Chau District, the positive results achieved by the association demonstrated great efforts of Hai Chau District's businesses to promote their local economic development.
In the coming year, the association will continue to recruit new members and implement more programs that connect its member businesses for mutual understanding, knowledge exchange, and economic collaboration.
Specifically, the association will regularly work with leaders of Hai Chau District to ask for support from them in an attempt to facilitate local businesses to overcome difficulties and thrive.
