Speaking at the launching ceremony, Chairman of Cam Le District People's Committee Nguyen Quang Vinh said that the model of non-cash payment streets has been expanded to many localities nationwide.

The replication of this model will be the basis to promote tourism, service activities, and local socio-economic development, as well as help people quickly access applications and utilities in the digital age, thereby contributing to building digital citizens and a digital society.

Ong Ich Duong is one of the busiest shopping streets with a long history of trading in the district. It is located on the administrative boundaries of two wards of Khue Trung and Hoa Tho Dong.

Also, the route connects to Thang Long, Nguyen Huu Tho, Le Dai Hanh, Cach Thang Tam, Cam Le market and other neighbouring roads.

The purpose of the launch of the model on the street is to build the image of a civilised commercial street, creating emphasis on decoration and airy space, and extending business operations. At the same time, it will create favourable conditions for people to experience new and modern forms of payment.

“The launch of the cashless payment street is intended to build a civilised commercial image, and form non-cash payment habits for business households, individuals and organisations, hereby contributing to promoting business activities, developing trade and tourism, creating an attractive and healthy environment, and at the same time serving the needs of sightseeing, shopping, and food services of people and tourists when coming to Cam Le District" Mr. Vinh emphasised.

According to the Cam Le District’s Economic Department, the district's policy of building the Ong Ich Duong civilised commercial street associated with non-cash payment is agreed by the vast majority of families and business households.

The entire route has 174 business households, 135 households of which have relatively spacious business signs, 91 have electrical decorations to ensure aesthetics, and 135 have payment by QR-codes or e-wallets.
