Viet Nam is South Korea's top tourist market in ASEAN
South Korea welcomed 386,921 Vietnamese tourists in November alone, accounting for 74% of the figure recorded in the same period of 2019-the year, prior to COVID-19, and 139.7% of the number in the same time last year, according to the Korea Tourism Organisation in Viet Nam (KTO Viet Nam) under the South Korean Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
The country is expecting to welcome 420,000 Vietnamese tourists by the end of the year.
Viet Nam is the country with the 5th highest number of tourists among foreign countries worldwide sending tourists to South Korea.
Especially, for the first time, Viet Nam takes the lead among Southeast Asian countries with the highest number of visitors to South Korea.
Along with the general recovery of the entire market, Korean MICE tourism has achieved many outstanding achievements in the Vietnamese market.
In particular, by late November, 38,435 MICE tourists came to South Korea, more than 2 times higher than the same period last year. Tourist groups of Korean-invested enterprises in Viet Nam reached 457 guests, 4 times higher than last year.
Viet Nam is the leading market in Southeast Asia in terms of MICE tourists to South Korea.
