Many activities promote digital transformation
Traceability and e-commerce are identified as two major directions in information technology application by the local industry and trade sector.
Last year, the municipal Department of Industry and Trade launched the ‘Market 4.0’ model at the Con, Han and Dong Da markets. Then, the model was expanded to 6 other markets citywide, namely Hoa Cuong Wholesale, Hoa Khanh, Cam Le, Tuy Loan, Bac My An and An Hai Bac markets.
To date, more than 7,000 market stallholders have been equipped with QR codes with the total transaction amount of small traders being over VND20 billion by scanning QR codes, and that of customers more than VND13 billion.
Particularly, the Da Nang Market Management and Development Company is implementing a project on the development of non-cash payment for fixed business households at affiliated markets through VNPTMoney and Zalo OA e-wallets.
The Department of Industry and Trade coordinated with relevant units to deploy QR food control stamps at markets and some food supply businesses in the city with a total of 2.23 million stamps.
Since 2018, up to now, the Department of Industry and Trade has supported about 5.3 million QR code stickers for about 470 small business households at 10 markets across the city.
After many years of implementation, the city’s e-commerce platform at www.danangtrade.gov.vn attracts the participation of about 1,920 businesses with 2,700 listed products and services.
Being actively involved in the operation of the Danangtrade from the early days, Mr. Vo Van Khanh, representative of the Viet Nam E-commerce Association in the Central Viet Nam and Central Highlands regions, said that many typical products of the city were on display on Danangtrade, bringing many choices to customers.
In particular, the number of businesses listing products on the platform increases by 20-30% per year. Besides the Danangtrade platform, the Department of Industry and Trade also coordinates to organize training courses on e-commerce platforms such as Shopee, Lazada, Tiki, Voso to customers for businesses and business households.
The Department gave a helping hand to nearly 30 units to build electronic information pages and print product traceability stamps, and supported 10 units to participate in booths on the Shopee platform.
Digital transformation on 3 pillars

Accordingly, the industry and trade sector boosts digital transformation on three pillars: digital government - digital economy - digital society.

Digital economy will account for at least 10% in each industry and field, at least 20% of the added value of the e-commerce sector, and at least 50% of people participating in online shopping.
