A ceremony was held in Da Nang on Tuesday to inaugurate DT601 and DH+2 routes and a section of West Ring Road No.2 connecting Road No. 8 in the Hoa Khanh Industrial Park to a bypass route to south of the Hai Van Tunnel.

In his remarks at the inauguration ceremony, municipal People's Committee Chairman Le Trung Chinh emphasised that the above-mentioned traffic projects were all the city’s dynamic ones, making a very important contribution to promoting the socio-economic development in the western area of the city.

The construction of DH2 route started on October 16, 2018, and was opened to traffic on June 30, 2022. The project has a length of 8.92km with a route parallel to the bypass road from the south of Hai Van Tunnel to Tuy Loan, connecting residential areas in Hoa Son Commune with the Hoa Vang District Administrative Centre.

The route contributes to reducing traffic pressure on the bypass route from the south of Hai Van Tunnel to Tuy Loan, as well as improving the safety level for vehicles in the area.

In the future, when the Hoa Lien - Tuy Loan expressway is completed, DH2 will be one of the vital traffic routes serving the travel needs of local people.

The construction of the 4.6 km-long Western Ring Road 2 project began on December 27, 2019, and was also opened to traffic from Road No 8 of the Hoa Khanh Industrial Park to the bypass from southern Hai Van to Tuy Loan on June 30,2023.

The route contributes to gradually improving the city's main transportation network; shorten the time to transport goods from the northern area to the Hoa Khanh Industrial Park and vice versa; reduce the flow of large vehicles participating in traffic on Nguyen Luong Bang Street and the bypass route from the south of Hai Van tunnel to Tuy Loan; and improve people's quality of life and travel conditions.

Work started on the project to upgrade and renovate DT601 road on April 30, 2020, running through communes of Hoa Son, Hoa Lien and Hoa Bac in Hoa Vang District.

This is the main traffic axis in the north - south direction, connecting traffic and facilitating the travel of people in the region and boosting the local socio-economic development.

Chairman Chinh highly appreciated the great efforts of local authorities in boosting site clearance, and that of more than 2,500 households who contributed land to build roads and infrastructure.

He added that the city respectfully acknowledged and appreciated the Da Nang Management Board of Traffic Construction Investment Projects, the Management Board of Priority Infrastructure Investment Projects, local authorities, relevant agencies and construction units to overcome difficulties in order to soon put the project into use.

He requested the municipal Department of Transport, investors and contractors to urgently review and organise the handover and reception of the project in order to put into operation.

On the occasion, Secretary Nguyen Van Quang presented 400 Tet gifts to 400 households in difficult circumstances in 4 communes of Hoa Ninh, Hoa Lien, Hoa Son and Hoa Bac in Hoa Vang District.
