Many culinary tourism venues in Da Nang highly attractive to visitors

These are famous dishes that are much favoured by many diners such as Quang noodles, ‘banh xeo’(crispy Vietnamese pancakes, ‘cao lau’ (rice noodles, a speciality of Hoi An ancient town in Central Viet Nam), spring rolls, fish noodle soup, sweet soup dishes, street food and many kinds of drink.
From the perception of the dish Delicious food in Da Nang, tourists also contribute to spreading propaganda on online social networking platforms. Thanks to the cuisine, many tourists have returned to Da Nang to enjoy unforgettable local dishes.
Ms. Le Thanh Huyen, a tourist from the central coastal province of Quang Binh, said that although a few months ago, she went on a trip with her company’s staff to Da Nang. She has decided to return Da Nang with her family because she wanted to feel more about local tourism products that she had not experienced during her previous trip.
“I feel very impressed with Da Nang's traditional cuisine, especially specialty dishes such as rice paper rolled with pork and raw vegetables, Quang noodles and spicy bread. At traditional markets there are many diverse dishes from all over the country available for customers to try.”, said Ms. Huyen.
Although making its debut on social networks for nearly two years, Mr. Vo Hoai Nam’s tiktok channel ‘Vivu with Nam’ showing culinary introduction videos, has attracted nearly 80,000 followers. Accordingly, many videos about Da Nang dishes were nominated to trend with hundreds of thousands of views and tens of thousands of favourites.
According to Mr. Nam, content about Da Nang cuisine receives a lot of attention from domestic and international tourists. Da Nang's dishes are rich and diverse, complete with both dry and liquid dishes.
At the same time, the dishes meet the strict standards of aesthetics and taste of international tourists. To promote culinary products to domestic and international people, traders have increased their attractiveness by constantly learning to make their dishes even more delicious.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Huyen, the owner of a snack stall at Helio night market, Hoa Cuong Bac Ward, Hai Chau District expressed that she has been trading in rice paper rolled served with pork and raw vegetables at the Han market for more than 10 years and now many tourists come here to enjoy it, especially on weekends, accounting for 30-40% of the restaurant's total customers.
The secret for her to keep tourists coming back to her eatery frequently is to use fresh ingredients, especially how to cook the pork avoid being too chewy.
In addition, dipping sauce is also an important factor in creating the flavour of the dish. Mr. Nguyen Van Nam, a male resident from Hai Chau District, has been doing Quang noodle business for more than 20 years. A few hundred customers usually come to his shop every day, especially on holidays and the New Year.
As for the secret for winning the trust of customers, noodles are made securely and manually, and especially, the broth must be simmered from pork bones, dried shrimp and dried fish. He often advises visitors who eat noodles for the first time to order an extra bowl of broth to add to the noodles, making the dish more flavourful and delicious.
Mr. Pham Duy Hung, the Director of Shjmily Travel Services & Trading Joint Stock Company, said that the attraction of culinary tourism in Da Nang depends on the diversity of dishes, from local specialties to dishes from all over the country.
In addition, the prices of dishes in Da Nang are also quite affordable, highly suitable for tourists’ budgets. Tourism and travel businesses need to focus on promoting Da Nang's specialty dishes to tourists from near and far.
On the other hand, businesses, restaurants and food stalls also need to significantly enhance the quality of food and services, and ensure food hygiene and safety. “I believe that culinary tourism will continue to grow strongly in Da Nang in the near future because this is one of the important factors that attract tourists to this beautiful coastal city.”, said Mr. Hung.
