Lots of convenient space
On the first days of 2024, on a 4,000 m2 plot of land at the corner of To Huu and Hung Hoa 3 streets in Hoa Cuong Nam Ward, Hai Chau District, workers are rushing to complete the construction of the remaining items of the Binh An Park.
Funded by the People's Committee of Hai Chau District, the over VND2.7 billion Binh An Park project will feature many items and amenities to serve local people such as squares, stages, gardens, trees, stone benches, outdoor fitness equipment, children's play areas; 2 badminton courts, and a parking bay.
Not far away, the construction of a public park on Le Ba Trinh Street in Hoa Cuong Bac Ward, Hai Chau District is also underway.
With a total investment of more than VND3.23 billion, the park will have a ground yard, green trees, landscape, walking garden, a two-storey book café, badminton courts, stage, exercise areas, and children's play areas.
Director of the Management Board of the Construction Investment Projects in Hai Chau District Dang Van Hieu said that the two above-mentioned parks will be put into use before the Lunar New Year 2024 in order to facilitate local people to enjoy Tet.
Previously, two parks and walking gardens in Thanh Binh and Nam Duong wards, at a total cost of VND9 billion, were put into use. Currently, the district is preparing for investment in two more parks and walking gardens, Mr. Hieu informed.
In Son Tra District, there are 47 plots of land earmarked for parks and walking gardens with a total area of more than 13 ha. Under the project to build parks and walking gardens in the locality during the 2021-2025 period, since 2021, the district has invested in infrastructure and lighting systems, and outdoor amusement and fitness equipment. The district authorities have mobilised financial resources to plant trees in 13 local parks and walking gardens.
In 2024 and 2025, the district continues to invest in infrastructure and call all more organisations and individuals to support trees to plant in the remaining parks and gardens.
At the same time, it will propose the city to build a bamboo thematic park combined with the administrative centre of Son Tra District, and a Vietnamese bamboo display house on the 7.95ha land after relocating the An Hai Broadcasting Station.
Chairman of Son Tra District People's Committee Hoang Son Tra highlighted that the construction of a thematic park with all types of bamboo trees and a Vietnamese bamboo exhibition house will provide the opportunity for people and tourists to experience all the images and values of bamboo, and even enjoy bamboo-related cuisine. Also, there will be an area selling bamboo souvenirs.
“We also have an idea to create a virtual reality area for people and tourists to see the entire growth process of bamboo culms, and the use of bamboo in labour, production, daily life and fights against foreign invaders by Vietnamese people, thereby creating an attractive and unique tourism product in the locality" Mr. Hoang Son Tra shared.
In addition to the abovementioned thematic park, there will be another thematic parks in the Thuan Phuoc Bay Urban Area and in the south of Son Tra Peninsula in the district according to the zoning plan along the Han River and the East Bank approved by the municipal People's Committee at Decision No. Decree 2451 dated November 7, 2023.
Harmonious and ecological open space
Along with the aforementioned thematic parks, the zoning plan along the Han River and the East Bank also includes large parks such as the Ngu Hanh Son Cultural and Historical Park, the Thanh Nien (Youth) Park, the Asia Park, and parks at both ends of Nguyen Van Troi Bridge, and the APEC Sculpture Park.
Large parks combined with water surface space (the Han River, Co Co River, Cam Le River, East Sea, and Da Nang Bay) and green corridors along rivers are open space systems which create a harmonious and ecological natural space.
Specifically, the space along the east coast of the city is created from the organisation of park and square spaces, connected by green routes and walkways.
The landscape space along the Han River is the main open space of the city centre, which is upgraded, renovated, and arranged with green corridors, public spaces, and artistic lighting in order to promote the advantages of the river.
The Central Square space adjacent to the Dien Hai Citadel, the Da Nang Administrative Centre and the Da Nang Museum is invested to become an important open space, associated with the value of the Han River.
Other open spaces such as the March 29 Park, the March 29 Square, beach squares, and parks in business and commercial centers have been renovated and upgraded to become important tourist attractions in the city.
According to the Da Nang Planning for the period 2021-2030, with a vision towards 2050 approved by the Prime Minister, open spaces and walking gardens in residential areas will be added in a bid to improve the spiritual life of urban residents.
Moreover, a series of parks will be invested or called for investment such as marine parks along the Da Nang Bay and the city's east coast; parks and walking gardens combined with commerce and services along Suoi Da canal in Son Tra District; cultural, entertainment, commercial and service thematic park southeast of the city's Peace Monument at the second stage in Hai Chau District; botanical park and zoo in the Dong Xanh-Dong Nghe Lake area in Hoa Vang District; a amusement, entertainment and botanical thematic park in Hoa Vang District; and a cultural and historical thematic park in Hoa Vang District.
