According to the Da Nang Green Trees-Park Company, the market's organiser, the sidewalks of three roads adjacent to the Tien Son Sports Arena are divided into 267 lots for individuals inside and outside the city to display and sell Tet flowers and ornamental plants.
Of the figure, there will be 238 2m-wide and 20m-long lots on the sidewalks of Nai Nam 2, Doan Khue and Nai Nam 3 streets, and 29 3.5m-wide and 11.4m-long lots on the sidewalks of a section of Nai Nam 3 Street adjacent to Phan Dang Luu Street.
The rental price is set for VND4 million/lot. The company only organises for organisations and individuals to draw lot numbers (no auction like every year). It also makes an effective plan to ensure the organisation and arrangement of selling areas smoothly and fairly.
It is expected that about 80% of the lots will be rented by organisations and individuals. Water and lighting supply systems will be installed to serve the flower market.
At the same time, the company has just signed a contract with the Da Nang Urban Environment JSC to clean the premises, install public toilets and regularly collect waste generated by business households.
Besides, the Da Nang Green Trees-Park Company will be in charge of managing revenue and financial expenditure of the Tet flower market. In case that revenue from renting space to sell flowers and ornamental plants does not meet the financial plan, the company will balance it on its own without asking for financial support from the city budget.
The Da Nang Green Trees-Park Company also affirms that it will not let the Tet flower market turn into handicraft market. Accordingly, it will coordinate with the authorities to not allow individuals and organisations to display fine arts and ceramic items.
The shortcomings and limitations arising during the previous Tet flower markets have also been noted by the company and proposed to the municipal People's Committee to handle.
In particular, the company will also establish a management department and coordinate with functional forces to regularly patrol; ensure security, order and environmental sanitation; and promptly resolve unexpected incidents.
The municipal People's Committee has assigned the Hai Chau District People's Committee to direct authorities of Hoa Cuong Bac and Hoa Cuong Nam wards, along with functional forces, to promptly handle the situation of households encroaching on sidewalks on September 2 Street and roads surrounding the Tet flower market to display and sell flowers and ornamental plants, affecting order, traffic safety and urban beauty.
Vice Chairman of Hoa Cuong Bac Ward People's Committee Le Huu Cong said that the ward will coordinate with relevant units to ensure security and urban order in areas where the Tet flower market 2024 will be held and surrounding areas in accordance with the city's instructions.
