Da Nang tourism promoted in India
The Da Nang Department of Tourism is promoting Da Nang tourism at the South Asia’s Travel and Tourism Exchange (SATTE) 2024 in India from February 22 to 24, announced the Da Nang Tourism Promotion Centre. This is the second time Da Nang has participated in this event with the purpose of promoting its tourism image to the potential Indian market.

SATTE 2024 is taking place at India Expo Mart Exhibition Center, Greater Noida, India from February 22 to 24, organized by Informa Markets and considered the largest fair in South Asia. This year’s event attracts more than 48,000 attendees, 1,800 exhibitors and more than 800 international and domestic Indian buyers.
The Da Nang FantastiCity booth of the Da Nang Department of Tourism covers an area of 70 square meters with the participation of nearly 20 tourism businesses in Da Nang, and Viet Nam in general, nearly doubling the booth size (1.6 times) in comparison to 2023.
Deputy Director of the Department of Tourism Nguyen Thi Hoai An said: “India is one of the breakthrough tourism markets for the Da Nang destination during the tourism recovery period and is forecast to continue to grow in the time. We expect the presence of the Da Nang tourism booth at SATTE Fair 2024 will strengthen destination recognition and connect with tourism partners more frequently and closely”.
According to Ms. An, the attractiveness and trends of the Da Nang destination are continued to be promoted by great efforts made by the city’s tourism industry at the SATTE as well as many other promotion and advertising activities at this foreign market, especially aimed at MICE (Meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions), golf and wedding tourism.
It is known that in 2023, the Indian market will rank 4th in the top 10 international tourist sources markets for Da Nang, behind South Korea, Thailand and China. The total number of Indian visitors to Da Nang in 2023 will reach more than 87,000 visitors, an increase of more than 5 times compared to 2019.
At the event, many activities took place at the Da Nang booth such as performing traditional ‘ao dai’ (traditional Vietnamese costume), experiencing Vietnamese coffee, lucky drawing prizes, taking check-in photos to receive souvenirs, organised according to fixed time frames) to attract more visitors.

Also at the SATTE 2024 event, Da Nang connects with airlines to strengthen partnerships and promote the opening of more direct flights from India to Da Nang. At the same time, Da Nang tourism industry meets with wedding tourism organizations and wedding event organisers to launch wedding tourism to Da Nang in 2024.
In the first months of the year, tourism has seen positive results from a series of promotional activities in the Indian market. Many MICE groups and large-scale wedding guests have chosen Da Nang such as an Indian billionaire's wedding party with more than 400 guests in January at the Shreaton Grand Danang Resort and Convention Center hotel, another Indian wedding event attended by more than 200 guests in February at the Hyatt Regency Danang Resort and Spa hotel, a MICE group of Indian Real Estate Association CREDAI with more than 400 guests at the Furama Danang Resort in February, the MICE group of JK Cement Limited (India) with 165 guests at the Fourpoints by Sheraton Danang hotel (expected in March); an Indian wedding party at the Danang Marriott Resort and Spa hotel with about 300 guests (expected in March).
The tourism and city service industries are gearing up enhancing the quality of products to be able to serve guests from this market.
