Several years ago, authorities in Hoa Phong Commune chose flower growing as the direction for economic development in Go Giang Land.

In addition to building concrete roads, installing lighting systems, and supporting villagers to dig wells to grow flowers, authorities in Hoa Phong Commune requested the district and the city to open flower growing training classes, as well as support seedlings, fertilisers and techniques for locals.

Till date, many households have had production experience and good income, as well as the quality of their lives has been constantly improved.

Currently, the Go Giang Flower Village has expanded its planting area to 3.7 hectares from the original area of 2 hectares, with 18 households participating in production. In 2023, the flower village's total revenue reached VND5 billion. In the coming time, the planting area is expected to expand by one hectare.

Since the 16th day of the 12th lunar month, trucks have begun arriving at the garden to transport flowers to the market.

Taking guests around the 750 m² flower garden, Mr. Tran Van Tam, Deputy Head of the Duong Lam 2 Village, happily said that since switching to growing flowers, the income of his family in particular, and that of local people in general, have gradually improved.

From the beginning, the growers didn't know anything about growing flowers and how to let flowers bloom at the right time. Now, households have experience and can create beautiful flowers to supply to the Tet market.

People come to buy flowers directly at the gardens

Mr. Ngo Doan Phuong Linh, the owner of the up to 5,000 m² Tet flower garden, said that he planted 2,000 pots of chrysanthemums and 200 pots of marigolds and dahlias this year. At this time, all of his flowers have been purchased by traders.

With the Lunar New Year Festival 2024 just 10 days away, gardeners in the Go Giang Flower Village are now busy taking care of flowers with the desire to bring the best quality products to customers, thereby increasingly affirming the Go Giang flower brand.
