Da Nang gains impressive results in budget collection in first two months of 2024

Economic challenges facing Da Nang’s districts, and the city as a whole, in 2024 will affect budget collection across the city. Therefore, effective measures have been taken to accelerate budget collection in a bid to achieve the city’s 2024 goals.

The domestic revenue goal in 2024 set by the national government for Da Nang is VND 15,790 billion, of which, VND 10,698 billion is set for the municipal-level block, and 5,092 billion VND for district-level block. In detail, VND 1,174 billion is set for Hai Chau District, VND 737 billion for Thanh Khe District, VND 725 billion for Ngu Hanh Son District, VND 671 billion for Son Tra District, VND 666 billion for Cam Le District, VND 664 billion for Lien Chieu District, and VND 455 billion for Hoa Vang District.

Data published by the Municipal Tax Department showed that between January 1 and February 26, the city’s domestic revenue reached VND 3,991 billion, equal to 25.3% of the full year's budgetary estimate, of which, VND 2,859 billion came from the municipal-level, equal to 26.7% of the full-year’s target while VND 1,132 billion came from the district-level block, equal to 22.2% of the full-year’s target.

Overall, the city’s budget collection in the first 2 months of 2024 is on schedule, many districts in the city yielded positive results in budget collection. Specifically: budget collection of Ngu Hanh Son District touched 29.3% of the full-year’s target, that of Son Tra District hit 23.8%, that of Thanh Khe District with 23.1%, that of Cam Le District with 22%, that of Lien Chieu District with 21.9%, that of Hai Chau District with 19.7 %, and that of Hoa Vang District with 14.6%. Especially, budget collection of Son Tra and Ngu Hanh Son districts grew at the fastest rate in the city.

The positive results of Son Tra and Ngu Hanh Son districts were mainly attributed to great efforts of local tax authorities in collecting non-agricultural land use tax, private construction taxes, tax on tangible personal property rentals, and other taxes.

Meanwhile, Hai Chau District focused on urging taxpayers with big tax debt of VND 500 million or more to timely pay their tax obligations. Heed is being paid to increasing the use of e-invoices generated from cash registers that are digitally connected to tax authorities according to the roadmap while deploying the digital maps of household businesses that have been built and deployed on the Etax Mobile application to help tax authorities manage taxpayers visually and grasp the area well. Furthermore, importance is attached to increasing budget collection from the real estate transfer tax, and e-commerce sales tax.

Thanh Khe and Lien Chieu districts took effective measures to collect unpaid tax debts by contacting taxpayers through notices, telephone calls, and in person. Special attention was paid to tightening the management of e-commerce activities to collect sales tax on e-commerce platforms.

Cam Le and Hoa Vang districts focused on collecting unpaid tax debts by contacting taxpayers through notices in order to urge them to fulfill their tax obligations. Heed was paid to imposing fines for the administrative violations against the national regulations on building and exploitation of mineral resources in an attempt to increase budget collection.

Moreover, importance was attached to collecting land tax debts by contacting taxpayers through notices. Special attention was paid to strictly handling cases of long-term debt and failing to comply with tax obligations.

In 2023, budget collection of the city’s district-level block reached VND 5,655.8 billion, touching 102.4% of the full year's budgetary estimate, of which, VND 1,288.3 billion came from Hai Chau District, VND 1,474 billion from Thanh Khe and Lien Chieu districts, VND 1,690.8 billion from Son Tra and Ngu Hanh Son districts, and  VND 1,202.6 billion from Cam Le - Hoa Vang districts.
