The People's Committee of Da Nang has just issued Decision No. 414 on approving the planning of the airport subdivision at the scale of 1:2000.

Accordingly, the airport subdivision is planned to have an area of about 1,326.7 ha. This area has specialised functions as it is an important traffic hub of the city associated with airport urban development.

Specifically, the airport subdivision includes parts of Hoa Cuong Bac and Hoa Thuan Tay wards in Hai Chau District; Thac Gian, Chinh Gian, Hoa Khe, An Khe, Thanh Khe Dong and Thanh Khe Tay wards in Thanh Khe District; and Khue Trung and Hoa Phat wards in Cam Le District.

The planning area is about 1,326.7ha. The planning boundary borders Nguyen Tri Phuong and Nguyen Huu Tho streets to the east; Truong Chinh Street to the west; Dien Bien Phu Street to the north; and Cach Mang Thang Tam (August Revolution) Street to the south.

According to the approved plan, the population size is forecast to be about 77,000 people by 2030. Of which, the permanent population is about 70,000 people, and the converted population is about 7,000 people.

The airport subdivision is divided into two main areas: the urban construction area and the Da Nang International Airport area, organised into 4 development areas with 4 residential units.

In particular, the Da Nang International Airport area includes the area 1 with development orientation according to the Da Nang International Airport Adjustment Planning project for the 2021-2030 period, with a vision to 2050.

Meanwhile, the urban construction area will be organised into 3 development areas including 4 residential units with a population of 77,000 people (temporary population is 7,000 people).

Specifically, area 2 with unit in DVO-2 will have a total area of 89.46ha and population of 18,3000 people. The area 3 with unit in DVO-1 will have a total area of 140.20 ha and population of 19,500 people.

The area 4 includes units in DVO-3 and DVO-4. Of which, the unit is in DVO-3 will have an area of 85.62ha and population of 19,400 people. The unit in DVO-4 will have an area of 163.30ha and population of 19,800 people.

Moreover, the land fund for social infrastructure works and trees in residential units is planned to increase gradually to approach the criteria of the new development area. Rented land plots at the end of the lease term are given priority for planning additional social infrastructure, trees, and parking lots.

Also under the planning, an open space will be designed on the principle of exploiting and protecting the natural landscape to ensure the harmony between the architectural space and land use functions. Notably, the highlight of the open space is the gateway to Da Nang International Airport - the main approach to Da Nang by air.
