Working and consulting groups established to carry out semiconductor development project in Da Nang

Authorities in Da Nang have just decided to establish a working group and a consulting group to implement the project on developing semiconductor chips and microcircuits in the city.

The working group is headed by Permanent Vice Chairman of the municipal People's Committee Ho Ky Minh, whilst Director of the Department of Information and Communications Nguyen Quang Thanh is the standing deputy head.

Two other deputy heads of the group are Director of the Department of Science and Technology Le Duc Vien and Director of the Department of Planning and Investment Tran Thi Thanh Tam.

The working group will be responsible for advising and helping the municipal People's Committee coordinate and carry out the abovementioned project. It will conduct research and propose guidelines and policies to develop semiconductor chips and microcircuits in the city, and to attract investment and train high-quality human resources for the local semiconductor industry.

Special attention will be paid to researching mechanisms to attract leading experts in the field of microcircuits and semiconductors to Da Nang to transfer knowledge and experience in many forms such as investment cooperation, short-term and long-term work, training and scientific research activities, seminars and conferences.

As for the consulting group, Dr. Nguyen Thien Nghia, Deputy Director in charge of the Department of Information Technology and Communications Industry under the Ministry of Information and Communications is the group leader. Director of the municipal Department of Information and Communications Nguyen Quang Thanh is the permanent deputy head.

The group will be in charge of helping the municipal People's Committee provide advice and criticism on the content of the project and related guidelines and policies for the development of the semiconductor and microcircuit industry in Da Nang. It will participate in the city's expert conferences and seminars related to the development of semiconductor chips and microcircuits.
