Currently, authorities in Son Tra District are hurrying to complete decoration and embellishment work and prepare for some related events.
Many people have been showing their excitement at the city’s new tourism product.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Hanh, living on Phan Huy Chu Street, An Hai Tay Ward, Son Tra District, said that the Nguyen Van Troi Bridge currently no longer has the function of operating traffic, instead it is a unique tourist pedestrian bridge of Da Nang. However, there is still a lack of tourism activities and services for guests.
Currently, functional units have installed additional lighting and decoration systems, and created beautiful check-in models with hanging pinwheels and conical hats, making the bridge more vibrant and inviting, thereby attracting more people and tourists to visit and experience.
“The lifting and lowering of the middle span of the Nguyen Van Troi Pedestrian Bridge spanning the Han River will be the highlight of the tourism services here”. Ms. Hanh noted.
Mr. Nguyen Van Tai, a resident of An Trung 5 Street, An Hai Tay Ward, Son Tra District, informed that, recent years have seen a boom in drinking and eating establishments serving culinary and snacking needs at night along An Trung 5 Street, near Nguyen Van Troi Bridge.
He added the operation of more nighttime tourism products on the Nguyen Van Troi Pedestrian Bridge and at the public the park east of the foot of the bridge in the near future will help lure more tourists to the locality in general, and to the cuisine area on An Trung 5 Street in particular.
For the time being, authorities in Son Tra District are coordinating with relevant units to urgently complete embellishment items, with focuses on cleaning up a section of the Han River bank adjacent to the park on the east bank of the Nguyen Van Troi Bridge; planting new trees; repairing damaged and degraded yards, embankments, and flower beds; and installing railings along the riverbank to ensure safety for residents and tourists.
Great efforts will be made to create two impressive check-in points with lighting north and south of the public park at the eastern end of the Nguyen Van Troi Bridge; as well as call on individuals and units to place antique motorbikes and three-wheeled vehicles used as check-in photo spots on the bridge.
Also, there will be photo exhibitions, and displays of specialised products quarterly or on public and Tet holidays depending on the actual situation in one of three areas on Nguyen Van Troi Bridge, and the north yard or the south yard of the public park on the eastern bank of the bridge.
Notably, visitors will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in vibrant music and entertainment atmosphere at street music programmes on the evening of Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays; and street carnival on Tran Hung Dao and Chuong Duong streets on the last Saturday night of every month.

Besides, there will be flashmob events, yoga festivals and street art programmes on the Nguyen Van Troi Bridge; and book reading and beer festivals at the public park.
Additionally, there will be five mobile carts or counters serving refreshments, fast food, and souvenirs at the southern yard of the park.
After the pilot operation on the first phase in 2024, Son Tra District will continue to renovate, upgrade and exploit tourism activities on the Nguyen Van Troi Bridge and a park east of the foot of the bridge from the first quarter of 2025 to the end of 2028.
Vice Chairman of Son Tra District People's Committee Huynh Van Hung affirmed that that the pilot organisation of nighttime tourism services on the Nguyen Van Troi Bridge and the public park east of the foot of the bridge was one of the highlight activities of the district in particular and the city in general in a bid to celebrate the 49th anniversary of the Liberation Day of Da Nang and the Reunification Day (April 30) and International Labor Day (May 1).
This is considered a tourism product to promote and introduce the city to domestic and foreign tourists, especially connecting with Bach Dang walking street in Hai Chau District in order to increase the attraction of the city’s nighttime tourism, he emphasised.
