Grasping the increasing need of organising practical experience activities, many travel agencies and tourist attractions across Da Nang have coordinated with schools and educational establishments to develop appropriate and useful extracurricular programmes in a bid to improve skills and knowledge for children and students.

In mid-March 2024, the Da Nang Smart Kids Kindergarten based in Hoa Minh Ward, Lien Chieu District, organised an extracurricular programme at the the Bana Rita Glamping Farm eco-tourism model combined agricultural development in Hoa Phu Commune, Hoa Vang District.

This activity aimed to increase practical experience, promote dynamism, and bring a refreshing playing atmosphere for children, thereby helping them immerse themselves in nature.

Mrs. Do Thi My Uyen, a representative of the kindergarten, said that hands-on experience activities associated with nature are very useful and practical, and create many happy and impressive emotions for children. With a fresh and green space, children can learn about animals, grow and take care of vegetables, apply learning knowledge into practice, and play exciting games.

“Hopefully, Da Nang will have more venues like this to increase opportunities for children to visit and experience” she added.

Currently, many cooperatives citywide get involved in organising experiential tourism and eco-tourism models, creating new tourism products, increasing revenue for locals, and promoting local tourism.

Mr. Nguyen Van Tan, Director of the Tuy Loan Organic Vegetables Consumption and Production Service Cooperative based in Hoa Phong Commune, Hoa Vang District, said that the cooperative welcomed an annual average of about 5,000-6,000 visitors. Most of them are groups of pupils from schools and educational establishments at all levels in the city.

The model helps not only increase income for cooperative members but also improve rural landscapes, promote agricultural products, and contribute to building civilised rural areas, modern farmers, and sustainable agriculture.

Aside from such activities as visiting vegetable villages, and growing vegetables, the cooperative will continue to invest in facilities and add more appropriate services to make the model more effective, thereby creating a new highlight of experiential tourism in Hoa Vang District.

According to ecotourism service operators, Da Nang has increasingly become a potential destination for experiential, ecological and community-based tourism.

In particular, Resolution No. 82/NQ-HDND dated December 17, 2021 of the municipal People's Council opens up opportunities for businesses and units to form prestigious, quality and attractive destinations for tourists.

It is known that tours designed for students and children mostly last within 1 day, aimed at ensuring their needs for fun, entertainment, and experiential travel, but still facilitating child care and supervision at a reasonable cost.

Mr. Dinh Van Loc, CEO of the Viet Da Tourism JSC (Viet Da Travel), said that March and April are bustling period for experiential travel programmes for pupils. Ecotourism destinations, craft villages and historical relics are always chosen for organising extracurricular programmes by many educational institutions and schools in the city.

Grasping this trend, his company regularly updates and learns about new tourist destinations to design tours to suit the needs of partners.

"This summer, we design nature experience tours suitable for family groups, with a focus on integrating the education of skills into attractive and useful activities for young people and children" Mr. Loc shared.
