In late May 2024, nighttime tourism services on the Nguyen Van Troi pedestrian bridge and the east bank park at the foot of the bridge were put into operation.
In phase 1, Son Tra District cleaned up the entire area, planted nearly 100 new trees, and installed 60 sets of tree headlights, the district logo, and power lines.
Also, two S-shaped bamboo frames; decorative frames for hanging conical hats, pinwheels and lanterns; check-in spots; service counters; and children's play areas were installed.
Notably, the 170m-long "Colorful Road" check-in point on the approaching road to Nguyen Van Troi Bridge is an impressive highlight for people and tourists.
Mr. Le Duc Quang, residing in An Hai Tay Ward, Son Tra District, said the newly-launched tourism activities were vibrant and bustling, drawing much attention from many people and tourists. He hoped that the night-time tourism services on the Nguyen Van Troi Pedestrian Bridge will be a highlight of civilised, clean and beautiful tourism in the city.
According to Son Tra District People's Committee, in the second phase, Son Tra District will continue to upgrade, design, and renovate facilities, infrastructure, flower gardens, lighting systems, floral models, auto-rickshaws, and check-in points on bridge. A number of entertainment and service activities will be organised to serve residents and tourists, and create highlights and connect with activities on Bach Dang walking street.
Aside from nighttime activities on the pedestrian bridge, Son Tra District has been focusing on enhancing the experience for tourists during the peak travel season.
In particular, the district authorities have made every effort to ensure security and order, traffic safety, urban beauty, environmental sanitation, and price stabilisation during the ongoing Da Nang International Fireworks Festival (DIFF) 2024.
As one of the three key wards during DIFF 2024, the People's Committee of Nai Hien Dong Ward has required 100% of food and accommodation service providers in the locality to sign commitments to ensure food hygiene and safety. In addition, the locality has thoroughly grasped and requested the forces to strictly handle violations related to illegal parking and trading, and improper collection of prices at fireworks viewing locations.
Mrs. Nguyen Thi Hoai Trang, a tourist from Ha Noi, said that Da Nang people were very civilised, polite and conscious of preserving and protecting the environment.
“Da Nang is chosen by many tourists as a tourist destination because of its beautiful landscape; friendly and hospitable people; and green, clean and beautiful environment. I will come back to the city soon in order to experience more tourism services" Mrs. Trang said.
According to Vice Chairman of the Son Tra District People's Committee Huynh Van Hung, the launching of new tourism products is expected to be a boost for tourism development of the district and the city as a whole.
“We hope that all visitors to Son Tra District in particular and Da Nang in general will have memorable experiences and positive impressions from the natural landscape, services, prices, and people. The district will continue to coordinate with units and localities to create more new tourism products, improve tourist experience, and contribute to the local socio-economic development" Mr. Hung said.
