During the inauguration ceremony, many fascinating activities were organised such as lion and dragon dances, drum and dancing performances, and a musical and artistic programme.
In his remarks at the ceremony, Chairman of Hai Chau District People's Committee Le Tu Gia Thanh highlighted the significance of the opening of the Bach Dang Walking Street in promoting the development of the nighttime economy and creating a space highlight in the city. Also, it contributed to diversifying commercial and culinary service activities in a new, spacious and modern cultural space, as well as creating a healthy community living environment combined with impressive commerce and services.
He emphasised that Bach Dang Street was located in the most prime location along the banks of the romantic Han River. For a long time, this place has become an attractive destination for both domestic and foreign tourists, closely associated with the economic, political and cultural life of Hai Chau District in particular and Da Nang in general.
Chairman Le Tu Gia Thanh affirmed that coming to the walking street, people and tourists can leisurely go for a stroll on a clean and beautiful street; admire the beauty of unique bridges spanning the Han River and modern, spacious architectural works; and immerse themselves in a colorful cultural picture with lively art programmes imbued with local identity.
He called on organisations and individuals participating in business activities on the walking street to join hands with the local authorities to build a civilised and polite commercial environment; and friendly and open service attitude. This will help create an image of friendly and hospitable Da Nang people, contributing to developing tourism into one of the city’s spearhead economic sectors.
