According to the Civil Aviation Authority of Viet Nam, the average price for economy class tickets on Viet Nam's domestic routes (excluding taxes and fees) being announced by airlines are significantly lower than the maximum price for basic economy class domestic air transportation service according to regulations.

Recent statistics show that during the peak summer season, air ticket prices at the general level have declined compared to the previous period.

In addition, airlines have increased the number of cheap tickets on some domestic routes such as Ho Chi Minh City - Da Nang, Da Nang - Ha Noi, and Ha Noi - Ho Chi Minh City with a variety of different prices, especially adding many cheap flights for passengers to choose from.

Mr. Nguyen Huu Do, a tourist from Ho Chi Minh City, said that domestic airfares have been cooling down compared with those during the Reunification Day (April 30) and Labor Day (May 1) holidays, so his family chose to travel to Da Nang on the occasion of the International Fireworks Festival (DIFF) 2024 by air.

Similarly, Mr. Pham Nhat Khanh from Dong Thap Province decided to travel to Da Nang by plane to watch DIFF 2024’s opening night.

It is known that when booking tickets for longer flight dates, airlines have lower prices available for passengers to choose from. In July, ticket prices are equivalent to 20-70% of the maximum on flights.

Notably, according to the announcement, economy class and economy tickets for domestic flights departing before 6:00 am and after 9:00 pm are quite affordable, ranging from about VND1.7 - VND1.9 million/ticket (including taxes and fees). The prices are applied for the route connecting Ha Noi with Ho Chi Minh City, and Ho Chi Minh City with Da Nang, Nha Trang, and Quy Nhon.

According to the Da Nang International Terminal Investment and Operation Joint Stock Company (AHT), from March 31 - October 26, the total number of flights is expected to be 20,918, of which, arrival flights will be 10,460, and departure flights will be 10,458. There are 100 flights to and from Da Nang every day, and the figure is expected to be 102 in June considered the peak travel season.

Moreover, to prepare for the peak tourist season, airlines have developed operational plans and announced promotional programmes, providing more tickets at low prices and stimulating domestic tourism demand.

Meanwhile, in order to meet the increasing travel needs of passengers during the summer of 2024, since May 15, the railway has operated many pairs of passenger trains on the North - South route to serve passengers, as well as launched many discount programmes during the summer.

Specifically, from May 17 - August 18, 2024, the railway has applied many policies to reduce ticket prices.

Accordingly, passengers who buy individual tickets for pairs of trains SE1/SE2, SE5/SE6, SE9/SE10 and SE11/SE12 will get 5% discount on ticket price as buying train tickets 20-39 days ahead of departure date, and 10% discount on ticket price as buying train tickets 40 days or more in advance. However, this policy does not apply to four-sleeper cabins on SE1/SE2 trains.

Along with the North - South route, the railway also organizes regular trains running on the routes Ha Noi - Vinh, Ha Noi - Dong Hoi, and Ha Noi - Da Nang. Two pairs of trains SE17/SE18 and SE19/SE20 are running on the Ha Noi - Da Nang route.

The railway sector has also announced ticket prices for two pairs of Hue - Da Nang tourist trains HD1/HD2 and HD3/HD4. Accordingly, the ticket price is set at VND 180,000/turn for Da Nang - Hue tourist train operating from Mondays to Fridays, and at VND210,000/ turn on Saturdays and Sundays.

During the summer, the railway still applies discount policies for heroic Vietnamese mothers, the elderly, wounded and sick soldiers, people with severe disabilities, pupils, and students.

In particular, two children under six can travel free any time when accompanied by an adult. Children from 6 to 10 years old receive a 25% discount on ticket prices.

Moreover, the railway industry has also launched many high-quality trains to serve people traveling during the summer. In particular, following the success of the high-quality train on the Ha Noi - Da Nang route (SE19/20), the high quality train SE21/22 operating on the Chi Minh City - Da Nang route was put into operation by the railway industry on April 27.
