Nighttime tourism services open on Nguyen Van Troi Bridge

Nighttime tourism services on Da Nang’s Nguyen Van Troi Bridge and at the east bank park close to the foot of this bridge were officially opened on Friday evening.

The opening of the pedestrian zone aimed to turn Da Nang's oldest bridge into nightlife hub to spur tourism.

Accordingly, the opening ceremony featured a wide range of entertainment services. Included are a ‘Ao dai’ and fashion show entitled "A glimpse of the Han River"; the street carnival themed "Sparkling Han River" along a section of ​​Tran Hung Dao Street from the foot of the Tran Thi Ly Bridge to Bui Thi Xuan Street, with the participation of more than 300 dancers; and an art programme "Son Tra - Musical rendezvous”.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Vice Chairman of Son Tra District People's Committee Huynh Van Hung said that with the purpose of organising high-quality night-time activities and services to serve tourists and residents, the district expected to promote the development of the night economy based on its available advantages of position and landscape.

In the first phase, Son Tra District concentrated on cleaning up the entire area, planting new trees and replacing old ones, adding lighting systems, installing decorative frames and miniatures, and upgrading water supply and drainage systems.

Also, heed was on auctioning and organising five service counters, and a children's play area, as well as completing the "Colorful Road" check-in point on the road leading to the Nguyen Van Troi Bridge with a length of 170m at a total cost of more than VND6 billion.

The completion of phase 1 of the project has significantly contributed to beautifying a large space connecting the two banks of the Han River, and creating the unique beauty of the bridge bearing the city's historical mark.

As for the second phase of the project, the district will continue to upgrade, design, and renovate facilities, infrastructure, flower gardens, lighting systems, floral models, auto-rickshaws, and check-in points.

There will be a number of captivating events and festivals such as stages for traditional music, a street music programme, drawing and painting exhibitions, aerobics show, street dances, and yoga festival in order to serve residents and tourists.

Night-time tourism products and services on the Nguyen Van Troi Bridge and the east bank park at the foot of the bridge are expected to be a boost for tourism development of the city in general and Son Tra District in particular in 2024 and the next years.
