Da Nang Downtown - new entertainment paradise

In just a short time, the city has launched many new tourism products, including nighttime tourism services on the Nguyen Van Troi pedestrian bridge and a park at the eastern bank at the foot of the bridge, the Bach Dang Walking Street, the September 2 Square, and high-class shows at the Da Nang Downtown (previously known as Asia Park).

Among them, the highlight of this summer is a number of entertainment activities held at the Da Nang Downtown, including the “Symphony of River” - an epic symphony between performance art, adventure sports and fireworks, and “Awaken River” - a Jetski & Flyboard adventure sports show.

​Director of the Da Nang Downtown Phung Pham Thanh Thuy said that with the desire to bring a "sleepless" summer, the Da Nang Downtown has added more nighttime tourism products, contributing to making an impression on visitors. The first-ever high-class shows "Awaken River" and "Symphony of River" are a combination of many entertainment performances with the participation of hundreds of international actors and artistes, along with over 20 leading Jetski and Flyboard athletes in the world, promising to bring visitors from one surprise to another because of their uniqueness and novelty.

In addition, there is a traditional puppet show every night at the 600-seater Au O Theatre with the participation of artists from the Viet Nam Puppet Theatre.

Ms. Ha Phuong, a Da Nang native, said that “As a local resident, I feel proud of my city and hope that through the freshly-launched activities and events, the city will woo more tourists to visit and experience”.

Expectations for growing visitor numbers

When going for a stroll along the Bach Dang Walking Street at night, Mrs. Phan Thanh Huyen from Nam Dinh Province, said that she was impressed by the city’s fascinating nighttime activities, and beautiful scenery along both banks of the Han River.

According to Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Thien, Deputy Director of the Hai Van Cat International Travel Services Company, the city's addition of nightlife entertainment products and facilities along both banks of the Han River in combination with the Da Nang Downtown entertainment complex formed a cluster of nighttime tourism products with many experiential products.

When visitors come to Da Nang, aside from visiting tourist attractions and enjoying cuisine, in the evening they also have many entertainment options. If effective, these products will contribute to keeping tourists staying in Da Nang longer, he added.

Mr. Nguyen Van Binh, Chairman of Sun Group in the Central region, said that the rebranding of Da Nang Downtown from Asia Park gave Da Nang a new look of a diverse entertainment complex of all types.

“We add new tourism products and refresh existing ones so that visitors can experience many entertainment services only available in Da Nang. With newly invested products, we hope the Da Nang Downtown will bring audiences memorable experiences this summer and attract a large number of domestic tourists to enjoy" Mr. Binh shared.

According to Chairman of the Da Nang Tourism Association Cao Tri Dung, the municipal government has recently been very interested in developing nighttime tourism products with a focus on increasing the experience for guests. Along with the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival, which is the city's own brand, the municipal government has basically gone ahead and anticipated the development of nighttime tourism activities by launching new products.

The models of Son Tra Night Market, An Thuong Night Market, Hellio Night Market, My An Night Beach, Bach Dang Walking Street, Nguyen Van Troi Pedestrian Bridge and Da Nang Downtown will contribute to diversifying nighttime tourism products for the city, and stimulating tourist spending and keeping them stay longer in the city.
