Continuing to innovate and develop Da Nang tourism
In his remarks at the Monday meeting to review the performance of tourism activities in the past 9 months and deploy tasks for the last months of 2024 and 2025, Da Nang Party Committee Secretary Nguyen Van Quang highly appreciated the efforts of the local tourism industry, and its close coordination with other departments and agencies over the past time.

He voiced his hope that the local tourism industry will continue to uphold its gained achievements in the past 9 months, and at the same time to innovate its growth model, renew existing product and develop new ones, and enhance the quality of accommodation services.
Secretary Quang affirmed that the city always accompanied businesses and the tourism industry in developing new and attractive tourism products, thereby contributing to the overall development of the city.
He asked the local tourism industry and relevant units to associate tourism activities in 2025 with important cultural and entertainment events so as to lure more tourists to the city.

The city Party chief underlined the decisive role of digital transformation in promoting the development of tourism. He, therefore, underlined a must-do for the local tourism industry to develop a digital transformation project and innovate communication activities.
During the event, participating businesses proposed solutions to help tourism firms overcome their current difficulties; evaluating destinations and proposing ideas for tourism development in Da Nang; and ensuring security and safety for tourists.

Director of the Da Nang Department of Tourism Truong Thi Hong Hanh said that, between January and September, the total number of overnight guests was estimated at 8.67 million, an increase of 33% over the same period in 2023, and representing 163% of the same period in 2019. Of which, international visitors were more than 3.17 million, up 30% in 2023, equal to 134% over the same period in 2019, whilst domestic visitors reached more than 5.49 million, up 34%, equal to 186% compared to the same period in 2019.
Revenue from accommodation, food and beverage, and travel in the first 9 months of 2024 stood at more than VND 26,000 billion, up 26% against 2023 and representing 135% of the same period in 2019.
During that period, 11 types of unique tourism products were developed. In 2024, the total number of visitors to Da Nang is expected to reach 10.3 million, up 39% compared to 2023. 4.2 million of them will be international visitors, 2.1 times higher than the same period last year, and domestic visitors will be 6.1 million, up 13%.
The total revenue from accommodation, food and beverage, and travel for the whole year is likely to reach more than VND 38 trillion, an increase of 37% compared to 2023, equal to 178% compared to 2019.

In the fourth quarter of 2024, the city's tourism industry will carry out 5 key tasks: releasing Code of conduct for tourists; organising events, festivals, and tourism products; carrying out tourism communication and promotion activities; and ensuring the tourism environment.
In addition, 8 key tasks were set out for 2025, with a focus on removing difficulties and obstacles to implement 3 breakthroughs to promote the city's tourism development; ensuring the tourism environment; improving service quality and developing tourism human resources to aim for "high quality" standard services; boosting digital transformation in tourism activities; linking cooperation to develop domestic and international tourism; and supporting tourism businesses.
