The purpose of the visits was to expand Da Nang's international cooperation with research facilities in Australia in the fields of science, technology and innovation, thereby contributing to the sustainable development of the city in the coming time.

At UNSW, the delegation and UNSW representatives together discussed the possibility of cooperation in technology research and development; their experiences in innovation promotion; and the importance of connecting between disciplines, businesses and governments in forming a strong innovation ecosystem.

UNSW is known to be one of the leading training establishments in the fields of engineering, information technology, and cyber security, as well as participating in many international research projects with more than 200 global partners.

Within the framework of their working trip to Australia, the Da Nang delegation had a working session at the ARC Training Centre for Fire Retardant Materials and Safety Technologies.

The two sides discussed future cooperation opportunities. The delegation also expressed their keen interest in research on nanotechnology and fire-resistant biological materials, and innovative fire extinguishing models. This field is very suitable for Da Nang's orientation in developing a smart and sustainable urban area, with a focus on fire safety and environmental management.

At the ARC Centre of Excellence for Carbon Science and Innovation (COE-CSI), the Da Nang delegation discussed the potential for cooperation in aspects of clean energy and green chemical production, contributing to realising Da Nang's zero emission target.

On October 3 afternoon, the delegation visited the University of Sydney, one of the leading educational institutions in Australia.

The delegation had a chance to work with professors and experts in the fields of chips, semiconductors, and telecommunications. Discussions focused on performance optimisation, applications and possible cooperation opportunities in the near future. This will help expand the connection network, and promote the development of the chip and telecommunications sector in Da Nang and Viet Nam as a whole in the future.
