Nearly 3,500 cruise ship passengers arrive in Da Nang
Arranged by the Khang Huy Holiday Vietnam Travel Co., Ltd., the cruise ship Costa Serena, with nearly 3,500 international guests and crew members on board, docked at Da Nang’s Tien Sa Port on Tuesday.

During their stay in Da Nang, the passengers visited some famous scenic spots and destinations in Da Nang such as the Sun World Ba Na Hill Tourist Area, the Marble Mountains and the Son Tra peninsula and experienced city tours to explore local culture and cuisine. Some guests chose to visit Hoi An Ancient Town in Quang Nam.

Mr. Ly Dac Nam, Director of the Khang Huy Holiday Vietnam Travel Company Limited, said that the cruise tourist season usually starts in October and ends in April. He added that the company will welcome about 50 cruise ships at both Tien Sa Port (Da Nang) and Chan May Port (Thua Thien Hue) during this year’s cruise tourist season.
He proposed the local authorities to add more large shopping centres into the list of destinations for cruise ship passengers in a bid to extend tourists' stays and spending.

It is known that the Costa Serena cruise ship departs from Hong Kong Port (China) and goes straight to Tien Sa Port, Da Nang. The ship left Da Nang at 6:00 pm on the same day.

According to the municipal Department of Tourism, in the first 9 months of 2024, the city received 27 cruise ship arrivals with 32,550 passengers, an increase of 5 cruise ships and 14,450 passengers compared to the total of the whole year 2023.
