In recent days, supermarkets, along with shops selling souvenirs, cosmetics, and fresh flowers, have been welcoming a large number of customers. Like previous years, meaningful, practical gifts at reasonable prices are chosen by many people to show gratitude to teachers on the occasion of Vietnamese Teachers’ Day.

As recorded at flower shops, the prices of fresh flowers have increased by about 15-20% compared to the same period in 2023. Imported flowers this year are diverse in types and designs. However, the main ones are still sourced from Da Lat City, Lam Dong Province such as lilies and sunflowers and the most popular is still rose.

Ms. Tran Thi To Uyen, the owner of Toto Flower Shop located in Hoa Khe Ward, Thanh Khe District, said that although purchasing power has not increased strongly, the current price of flowers has rose by about 20% compared to the same period in 2023, due to unfavourable weather conditions.

Notably, fruit baskets decorated with flowers are sought after by many customers. Ms. Le Thi Phuoc, the owner of the Le Phuoc shop in Hoa Khanh Nam Ward, Lien Chieu District, shared that she has sold 70-80 fruit baskets/day to serve Vietnamese Teachers' Day since November 16.

Flower and fruit baskets are priced from VND 150,000 to VND 2 million each, depending on the type of flowers and fruits. Customers prefer to choose imported fruits such as milk grapes, melons, and cherry apples. 

The prices of flowers and fruits have kept as stable as normal, but those of some imported fruits such as melons, milk grapes, apples and kiwis have gone up 5-10% compared to previous years.

Besides baskets of flowers and fruits, practical gifts at reasonable prices such as souvenirs, fashion items and cosmetics are also chosen by many parents and students.
