This year's Christmas market introduces many new products, with prices remaining stable. Many shops are offering promotional deals and discounts to attract customers and compete with online platforms.
However, consumers tend to tighten their budgets due to economic difficulties and the proximity of Christmas to the Lunar New Year. As a result, there are fewer individual buyers compared to the same period last year. The main customers are businesses, hotels, and service-oriented stores.
Nguyen Hoang Phuc, an employee at the My Ngoc BabyHome on Hung Vuong Street, Hai Chau District, shared that customer traffic this year is lower than last year. The variety of Christmas decorations is greater than in previous years. The store is offering a 10% discount on all items to encourage sales.
"The most popular items are Christmas tree ornaments and artificial trees. Customers usually prefer buying ornaments to refresh their existing trees with new colours or themes. We also provide tree decorating services according to customer preferences" he added.
Pham Lan Huong, a student at Nguyen Binh Khiem Junior High School in Lien Chieu District, said that she likes picking small items to decorate her study desk for a Christmas vibe. With a budget of VND 100,000, she found many beautiful and suitable gifts.
Some stores also offer Santa Claus delivery services. Le Thi Kim Chau, the owner of Phoenix Bookstore on Kinh Duong Vuong Street, Lien Chieu District, explained that the store delivers Christmas gifts from December 22 to 25, 2024.
Staff members dressed in Santa Claus will deliver gifts directly to customers' homes, with delivery fees depending on the distance. This service is exclusively available to customers who shop at the bookstore.
In addition to traditional markets, Christmas decorations and gifts are also being actively sold on e-commerce platforms such as Lazada, Shopee, and social media channels like Facebook and TikTok.
These platforms offer a wide range of products, allowing customers to order items tailored to their ideas and needs. Many shoppers take advantage of big sales days to purchase Christmas decorations and gifts.
