Da Nang among top 5 most searched inbound destinations for New Year's Eve travel: Agoda

As some days left to 2025, highly - popular digital travel platform Agoda recently revealed an increase in interest for Viet Nam as a go-to New Year’s Eve destination. Like previous years, the beautiful central coastal city of Da Nang has emerged as one of the most searched destinations in Viet Nam by foreign tourists for New Year's Eve.

According to Agoda’s data, travellers from South Korea, Japan, Thailand, Taiwan (China), and the United States are leading the charge to see 2024 off in the Viet Nam atmosphere. Unsurprisingly, Ho Chi Minh City topped the charts as the most sought-after destination, Phu Quoc Island climbed to second place,  while Da Nang, Ha Noi, and Nha Trang rounded out the top five hotspots.

Agoda revealed the cited information in its report that analyzed searches made from November 1 to 27 for check-ins on Dec. 31, 2024.

Over the past few days, the atmosphere of making preparations for the Christmas and New Year 2025 Festival in Da Nang has been bustling at some locations where the festival will take place such as: the northern landscape floor, the eastern and the western banks of the Rong (Dragon) Bridge; the southern landscape floor, the western bank of Dragon Bridge, opposite the Da Nang Museum of Cham Sculpture.

Outstandingly, searches for accommodations in Viet Nam during the upcoming New Year’s Eve have increased by 30% compared to last year, highlighting the country's growing popularity and attractiveness among international travellers. In particularly, high-end resorts in Da Nang and Phu Quoc are reporting occupancy rates of up to 90% for New Year's Eve.

Vietnamese travellers are also making bold choices for their New Year escapes. Domestically, Ho Chi Minh City reigns supreme, followed by the romantic highlands of Da Lat, the serene beaches of Vung Tau, capital city Ha Noi and the beachside Nha Trang.

Also, Vietnamese travellers showed their interest in international destinations such as Bangkok and Phuket in Thailand, Tokyo in Japan, South Korea’s Seoul, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia) and Ubud in Indonesia, Dubai and Hong Kong (China).
