Da Nang construction industry flourishes
According to a recent report made by Da Nang People's Committee, in 2024, Da Nang has made efforts to promote the implementation of public investment projects, actively disburse funds, thereby supporting the acceleration of progress, increasing the value of implementing housing construction and civil engineering works. Many large-scale projects have been granted construction permits.

On November 26, New Town Development Company Limited held a groundbreaking ceremony for the high-rise apartment building structure of the New Town Diamond high-end commercial and sports service urban area project with a total construction value of nearly VND1,000 billion.
Accordingly, the project is located on an area of 1.4 hectares in Hoa Hai Ward, Ngu Hanh Son District with three towers with each having 38 storeys and a 6-storey basement. The project is expected to be constructed in 275 days, and it will create an architectural highlight, a new symbol of the city.
On November 29, the Da Nang Department of Construction granted a construction permit to MM Mega Market Viet Nam Co., Ltd. to build the 3-storey Mega Market (MM) Supercenter Da Nang on a land area of over 1.9 hectares on Nguyen Sinh Sac Street, Hoa Khanh Nam Ward, Lien Chieu District.
Previously, on November 13, the municipal Department of Construction also gave the green light to the Ba Na Cable Car Service Joint Stock Company to build six items of the Ba Na - Suoi Mo Eco-tourism Complex project, namely a 24-26 storey tower, a 19-storey tower, a 7-storey entertainment building block, a 10-storey multi-purpose performance building, a 3-storey covered corridor block and internal roads.
According to the municipal Department of Construction, since the beginning of 2024, construction permits have been granted to more than 85 projects totaling more than VND61,000 billion worth of private capital, including large-scale projects that have been implemented, contributing significantly to promoting the city’s socio-economic growth. At the same time, the department has appraised and approved about 47 public investment projects worth about VND5,000 billion in total.
The above-mentioned results are a testament to the effort exerted by the construction industry and the departments, branches, sectors and localities throughout the city as a whole, especially the drastic direction of the city’s leaders in implementing solutions to promote public investment projects, actively disburse and remove bottlenecks in construction investment, helping projects speed up implementation progress.

Actively support and remove obstacles and difficulties
Along with projects that have been licensed for construction and are under construction, departments, branches, districts and counties have been making efforts to carry out procedures and support investors to speed up the completion of procedures on land, detailed planning and environmental impact assessment reports.
Architect Nguyen Van Hai, Son Tra District expressed: “It can be said that 2024 is a year of “explosion” in the construction of investment projects in commercial housing, tourism, trade and services in Da Nang.
With the addition of 4-5 star hotel projects, luxury apartments, tourist apartments, offices for rent, commercial centers, production centres, contributing to the city’s sustainable socio-economic growth.
Through this, people also expect the city to have a new successful development phase, with a good position, becoming a modern urban area approaching major cities in Asia.
Accoridng to Director of the municipal Department of Construction Phung Phu Phong, implementing the working theme for 2024 ‘Promoting administrative reform, strengthening discipline, continuing to unblock investment resources, promoting economic growth and ensuring social welfare’, the city has directed specialised agencies to actively review and proactively coordinate with ministries, branches, and national agencies to propose solutions to remove difficulties and obstacles facing major projects across the city, continuing to unblock resources, creating momentum for the local socio-economic development.
In addition, the work of establishing zoning plans has made many breakthroughs as the Da Nang People's Committee completed the approval of the entire planning of nine urban zoning areas and a number of zoning areas to build dynamic and key functional areas.
That the city has achieved remarkable results in the appraisal and construction licensing work is the basis for implementing new projects, contributing to promoting the disbursement of public investment capital, unlocking investment resources, implementing construction and continuing to promote the city's socio-economic growth in the coming time.
