As recorded at clothing stores on Le Duan, Phan Chau Trinh, Au Co and Nguyen Canh Chan streets, and at some markets, supermarkets and shopping malls across Da Nang, these days when the temperature drops, warm clothes such as down jackets and sweaters are consumed strongly.

Some accompanying accessories such as scarves, wool hats, gloves and socks, priced from VND 20,000 to several hundred thousand VND/product, are also chosen by many customers. The items are also diverse in design, colour and material.

Mr. Nguyen Hoa, the owner of the Hung Nam clothing store on Nguyen Canh Chan Street in Hoa Khanh Bac Ward, Lien Chieu District, said that since the beginning of November, the store has recently seen a 30% increase in the number of shoppers compared to previous days.

The store's revenue during cold days ranges from VND 15-20 million/day. Best-sellers are autumn and winter items such as down jackets, sweaters, and coats. In particular, down jackets are being sold at VND 250,000 - VND 350,000 each, sweaters at VND 150,000 - VND 295,000 each, and coats at VND 250,000 – VND 395,000 each.

According to Mr. Hoa, customers are also buying clothes for Christmas and Lunar New Year, so the store is constantly importing new quantities and has many new models.

Ms. Dinh Thi Minh Trang, a resident of Hoa Khanh Bac Ward, Lien Chieu District, shared that the weather is cold, so she went to clothing stores to buy warm clothes for her children.

According to her, this year’s clothes have many diverse, beautiful designs and are affordable. Aside from buying directly at stores, she often shops on e-commerce platforms, including Shopee, TikTok Shop and Lazada. However, according to Ms. Trang, when buying directly, customers will know more about the quality of the product such as fabric, seams, etc.

In addition to new clothing models, secondhand clothes are also very attractive to customers because of the price advantage. At the Con Market, the shopping atmosphere for secondhand clothes becomes more exciting when the weather turns cold.

Specifically, a men's or women's windbreaker is only priced at VND 25,000 - VND 80,000, a women's trench coat at VND 50,000 - VND 150,000. Due to low prices, secondhand clothes attract both low-income and high-income customers.

In the cold season, blankets, sheets, pillows, and mattresses are also of interest to many customers. Mr. Mai Van Sang, a salesman at the branch of Thang Loi Mattress on Ton Duc Thang Street, Lien Chieu District, said that the number of customers coming to the store in cold days by about 20-30% compared to sunny days.

According to Mr. Sang, the prices of the items are always stable, the store imports blankets and sheets from domestic production facilities, so the prices are reasonable. At the store, rubber mattresses cost from VND 1.4 million to VND 13 million depending on the size. The prices of popular pillows range from VND 35,000 - VND 40,000 each, high-end pillows VND 300,000 - VND 400,000 each, and blankets VND 140,000 - VND 400,000 each.

The market for electronic products serving the cold season this year is also quite diverse in terms of designs, brands, prices and features. Some fan heaters have additional sensor features. Electronics stores and supermarkets have launched many promotional and preferential policies during this time. Clothes dryers cost from VND 5 million to VND 18 million/product depending on design and features, hair dryers VND 170,000 - VND 1.1 million/product, fan heaters VND 500,000 - VND 6 million/product, and water heaters VND 1.3 million - VND 8 million/product.

According to Mr. Dang Van Son, Manager of Viettronimex Electronics Supermarket located at 6 Pasteur Street, Hai Chau District, customers come to the supermarket to buy items such as fan heaters, water heaters, clothes dryers, and hair dryers. The supermarket has ready-made goods in stock to serve people's shopping needs. The prices of all items have not increased compared to last year, the supermarket also offers good prices to increase competitiveness in the market.

Currently, the number of customers coming to buy directly at the store has increased slightly compared to normal days but not much compared to the same period last year. The main reason is thought to be that consumers are tightening their spending in difficult economic times and some customers tend to order goods on online shopping sites.
