After more than two years of implementing Conclusion No. 209-KL/TU dated June 22, 2022 of the Standing Committee of the Da Nang Party Committee on building and developing Son Tra District to 2030 and the following years, the Son Tra District People's Committee focused on directing the effective implementation of 4 main groups of tasks according to Action Programme No. 11-CTr/QU dated September 12, 2022 of the Son Tra District Party Committee on implementing Conclusion No. 209-KL/TU to ensure the district’s rapid yet sustainable development, truly becoming a civilized and modern urban area.

Son Tra District has deployed and implemented well the group of tasks to mobilize and effectively use all resources as well as make good use of mechanisms and policies, creating breakthroughs for itself to have rapid and sustainable development, truly becoming a civilized and modern urban area, a key point in the city’s tourism, services, finance, trade and marine economy.

In particular, the district has strengthened the management of revenue and expenditure to ensure strictness, efficiency and savings; implemented solutions to prevent revenue loss, along with nurture revenue sources, especially in the fields of services, tourism, restaurants and hotels. The total annual local budget revenue is always completed early, exceeding the set plan, and the following year is always higher than the previous year.

Vice Chairman of Son Tra District People's Committee Huynh Van Hung said: “2024 is expected to have been the first year that the total state budget revenue in Son Tra District exceeds VND 1,000 billion. As of December 10, 2024, the total budget revenue in the district in 2024 reached more than VND 1,071 billion, an increase of 37.6% compared to 2023".

The urban district also continues to mobilise investment resources to develop a synchronous, civilized and modern urban infrastructure system. The clearance and compensation work has been urged to accelerate with a fairly high disbursement rate and has completed site clearance for projects that have lasted for many years.

In addition, the district has proactively and actively coordinated with departments, and related units to implement zoning plans, landscape planning on the eastern bank of the Han River, detailed planning and public announcement, the exhibition of planning projects, landscape works, architecture, and highlights invested by the state budget and investors in the district.

Vice Chairman of Son Tra District People's Committee Nguyen Hoang Viet said: "Through planning and architectural projects, the district and investors have cooperated to turn potentials, strengths, goals and ideas into reality, helping Son Tra develop quickly and sustainably, contributing to concretizing the policy of the Standing Committee of the Da Nang Party Committee in Conclusion No. 209-KL/TU".

The District People's Committee has developed, issued and implemented the project ‘Diversifying products and improving the quality of sea-based tourism and resort tourism services, focusing on developing entertainment services, especially night-time entertainment services, meeting the needs of tourists in the 2021 - 2025 period with a vision toward 2030" and associated with a number of issued projects.

At the same time, the district has effectively coordinated with relevant agencies to organise unique annual cultural events and festivals, associated with the city’s international tourism promotion events and programmes, especially the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival, promoting the image of Son Tra District with new tourism products and services. Many exciting and bustling services and serve night tourism on Nguyen Van Troi pedestrian bridge and the park on its eastern bank.

Along with the above-mentioned group of tasks, the district always also focuses on investing in culture and society commensurate with economic development; improving the material and spiritual life of the people, meeting the requirements of economic, cultural and social development, ensuring national defense, political security, social order and safety, releasing the list of 11 projects in the fields of education, training, trade, services, real estate, healthcare that are ready for investment.

The Son Tra District People's Committee will, in the coming time, focus on directing departments, branches, sectors and localities to perform tasks according to Action Programme No. 11-CTr/QU of the Standing Committee of the District Party Committee and Plan No. 163/KH-UBND dated September 14, 2022 of the municipal People's Committee on implementing Conclusion No. 209-KL/TU.

Accordingly, the district will place an emphasis on promoting economic development, urban management, protection of natural resources and environment, improving the material and spiritual life of the people; developing education and training in all aspects, strengthening the building of potential, the position of the national defencee, people's security and the national border, promoting judicial reform, government building and administrative reform.
