Airlines increase flights to meet rising Tet travel

The Civil Aviation Authority of Viet Nam announced on Saturday that airlines are adding more flights to routes with high booking rates to satisfy the higher travel demand during the Lunar New Year (Tet) which falls in late January 2025.

Accordingly, compared to last week, Vietnamese airlines has added 522 flights for the Tet holiday, equivalent to an increase of about 133,000 seats on domestic routes.

The flights are mostly on routes from Ho Chi Minh City to central provinces from January 22 to February 8, primarily on routes of Ho Chi Minh City - Buon Ma Thuot with 26 more flights, Ho Chi Minh City - Quy Nhon with 37, Ho Chi Minh City - Thanh Hoa with 32, and Ho Chi Minh City - Chu Lai with 34.

In addition, to better meet the travel needs of people during the 2025 Lunar New Year holiday, the Civil Aviation Authority of Viet Nam is working with airlines to increase flights on existing routes with high booking rates, especially routes with booking rates of over 90%.

Also, domestic airlines are continuing to operate night flights, ensuring absolute safety and compliance with infrastructure requirements.
