A race against time

As observed along Bach Dang Street, the floral displays and lighting decorations for Tet 2025 have been underway. In particular, the main locations for placing the mascot - the symbol of Lunar New Year of Snake have been basically completed, creating a new look for the city's streets.

Mr. Ho Dinh Cu from the Minh Tuan Tu Consulting and Construction Company Limited said “To ensure progress, the company mobilises about 60 workers and machines every day to carry out the work according to the plan. Currently, the decoration at squares to the north, south and west of the Dragon Bridge, and the areas near the APEC Sculpture Park - where the mascot of the Lunar New Year 2025 has been about 80% completed”.

Mr. Nguyen Thanh, Deputy Director of the Management Board of Investment and Construction Projects of Civil and Industrial Works of Da Nang (the investor of the floral display and lighting decoration project for Tet 2025) informed that the project items are being implemented by the winning bidder according to the plan.

For stages such as installing the frame, arranging ornamental plants in some locations according to the design, more than 60% of the work volume has been achieved, and many locations have reached over 70% of the work volume. The main flowers this year include chrysanthemums, gerberas, orchids and yellow apricots, carefully selected from reputable gardeners to ensure quality and durability. In addition to aesthetic factors, construction quality and labour safety are top priorities.

According to records, people and tourists are excited and waiting for the construction unit to complete the floral decoration clusters on the western side of the Dragon Bridge.

Ms. Le Thi My, a resident living near the construction area, shared “The Tet Flower Street not only becomes a place to take photos and visit, but also symbolises a new beginning, hope and development of the city. Every year, I look forward to the Tet flower street because it is beautiful and also helps connect the community, making the Tet atmosphere more bustling”.

Many activities to serve people and tourists

According to the Da Nang Tourism Promotion Centre, the Bach Dang Spring Flower Street will open to the public starting from January 15, promising to bring a space full of spring colours and meaning.

The authorities are planning to organize many fun and entertainment activities to serve people and tourists during Tet. Aside from the Bach Dang Spring Flower Street, the beach flower street will also be deployed along the sidewalk from My Khe Beach to My An Beach. This will be an ideal destination to relax, enjoy the fresh sea air and admire unique decorative art during Tet.

At the East Sea Park, from January 26 - February 10 (27th day of the 12th lunar month to 12th day of the first lunar month), the "Spring Fragrance" programme will feature creative check-in models with the theme of Lunar New Year with elaborate investment in design. The programme promises to bring unique experiences for people of all ages. The Marble Mountains Tourist Area will become a beautiful space with fresh flower miniatures for visitors to visit and check-in. This is a can't-miss destination for those who love the natural beauty combined with the unique culture of Da Nang.

Mr. Nguyen Duc Vu, Head of the Management Board of Son Tra Peninsula and Da Nang Tourist Beaches, said that on the basis of the beach flower street in 2024, the unit is urgently preparing to decorate with more flowers to bring a spring-filled atmosphere to the sea tourism street. In particular, the check-in model at the East Sea Park further highlights the natural beauty of the beach.

According to the municipal Department of Tourism, tourist attractions are making efforts to form a typical Tet space associated with fun activities in order to offer rich and attractive experiences to tourists.

Specifically, the Da Nang Downtown will be decorated with flower miniatures, rows of lanterns, wishing trees and Vietnamese Kitchen corner. There will be amazing arts programmes such as lion dance, Ao Dai shows and circus performances, especially the event “Vietnamese Costume & Cosplay Night” on the 5th day of Tet for young people.

At the Toom Sara Village, the programme “Tet Lang - Tet Lanh” will recreate the traditional village space with a number of exciting activities such as sowing seeds, folk games, bingo, bamboo dancing and campfire. Live music performances and meaningful community activities will be organised to create a warm and close Tet atmosphere.

Deputy Director in charge of the Da Nang Tourism Promotion Centre Huynh Thi Huong Lan said that the centre has promoted activities, events and festivals to welcome in the Lunar New Year on social networking sites such as Danang Fantasticity Fanpage, newspapers, and tourism association channels.

"In the Lunar New Year 2025, the city will become the centre of the festival atmosphere with a series of special events. Promoting communication will contribute to attracting people and tourists to visit, immerse themselves in the space filled with spring colours and experience many fun and entertainment activities", Ms. Lan said.

According to the Management Board of Investment and Construction Projects of Civil and Industrial Works of Da Nang, the urgent implementation of the floral displays and lighting decorations for Tet 2025 will not only meet the needs of people to enjoy culture and arts but also contribute to advertising the local image and promoting tourism development. Hopefully, with the efforts of related units, this spring will become memorable with brilliant flower streets imbued with Vietnamese identity.
