Da Nang takes proactive measures to develop regional financial centre
In his remarks at the Saturday conference in Ho Chi Minh City to announce the Government’s resolution on promulgating action plan to implement the Politburo’s conclusion on developing regional and international financial centres in Viet Nam, Secretary of the Da Nang Party Committee Nguyen Van Quang presented the preparations to develop the regional financial centre in the city.

He thanked leaders of the Party, the State, the Central Committees, ministries and branches for their special care in implementing the policy of building regional and international financial centres in Viet Nam.
Mr. Quang highlighted the significance of the development of regional and international financial centres in Viet Nam in creating a strong breakthrough for the economy, as well as solving difficulties and problems in mobilising and effectively using resources, especially mobilising capital to serve the country's socio-economic development. This will greatly contribute to enhancing the role, position, prestige and influence of Viet Nam in the international arena, preparing for a new era - the era of the nation’s rise.
The city Party chief pointed out that the city also proactively developed and implemented a number of specific groups of tasks and solutions.
In particular, the city has recently established a Steering Committee and a Working Group of the Da Nang Party Committee on the construction and development of the Da Nang Financial Centre. Also, the city has coordinated with the Ministry of Planning and Investment to develop legal documents, draft Resolutions of the National Assembly on the establishment of regional and international financial centres in Viet Nam, striving to soon advise the Government to submit to the National Assembly at the 9th session of the 15th National Assembly.
Efforts have been made to review the preparation of infrastructure for the construction of the Financial Centre, and in the immediate future, call for strategic investors to build the infrastructure for the Financial Centre on an area of about 6 hectares in Son Tra District. This location is of interest to many investors and is included in the master plan approved by the Prime Minister.
The city has developed training programmes with international training institutions in training human resources to serve the International Financial Centre, as well as had a plan to send Da Nang officials to study and practice at major international financial centres in the world.
Moreover, the city has actively coordinated with the Ministry of Planning and Investment to organise an international conference "Developing Regional and International Financial Centres in Viet Nam" on January 16, 2025.
The conference will introduce the policy and orientation for the development of the regional and international financial centres in Viet Nam as well as consult with management agencies, strategic investors, organizations, financial institutions, investment funds, consulting companies and domestic and foreign experts on specific and outstanding mechanisms and policies to develop the regional and international financial centres in Viet Nam.
Within the framework of the upcoming conference, Da Nang will promote the signing of memoranda of understanding on cooperation on a number of related contents such as researching and proposing specific and outstanding mechanisms and policies; promoting and inviting investors, and developing human resources to serve the construction and development of the Da Nang Financial Centre with a number of financial organisations, investment funds and related units.
