Da Nang tourism booms
Continuously organising unique and attractive events and festivals, and adding new tourism products are the ways Da Nang has been investing in the ‘smokeless industry’ to lure more domestic and international visitors. The strong growth of the city's tourism in 2024 contributed to making an important contribution to the economic development of Da Nang in 2025 and the following years.

A "push" in visitor numbers
It is no coincidence that Da Nang has become a tourist destination chosen and loved by tourists at both home and abroad. Da Nang now has 22 domestic and international air routes. The opening and resumption of international flights to new markets has promoted the development of tourism, services, and trade, bringing tourists closer to Da Nang.
According to Chairman of the Da Nang Tourism Association Cao Tri Dung, Da Nang possesses diverse natural resources, historical culture, improved infrastructure, and a well-invested service system. In addition, the city has attracted large investors, and built unique tourism products and services that have created highlights and stand out from other destinations in the country. This is an advantage for Da Nang to move towards sustainable tourism development in the future.
Deputy Director of the Hai Van Cat International Travel Company Nguyen Ngoc Thien said that in recent years, Da Nang has not only contributed in terms of visitor numbers but also become one of the tourism brands associated with Viet Nam, in terms of resources, infrastructure, service systems, and destination environment. There are many factors that help Da Nang create a brand and connect with countries around the world, including the advantage of having an international airport, a tourist seaport, and a synchronous transport infrastructure.
Moreover, the breakthrough thinking of local leaders over many periods has contributed to making Da Nang a destination capable of developing sustainable tourism based on available resources, combined with attracting investment in infrastructure development, high-quality services, etc. From there, a rich and diverse product ecosystem can be built, which can meet the increasingly high demands of domestic and international tourists.
Mr. Cao Tri Dung further analysed that tourism is a comprehensive economic sector, with connections and impacts on many industries and fields. The development of tourism has spread to many industries, contributing to the overall growth of the city's economy. Da Nang tourism has gone through a very difficult time during the COVID-19 pandemic, but with the joint efforts of the city's leaders, the business community and people, the city's key economic sector has recovered quickly and has risen up.
This spectacular transformation is thanks to the synchronisation of infrastructure, well-invested tourism products, and the attraction of famous international brands such as InterContinental, Novotel, Premier, Hyatt Regency, Marriott, and Hilton. In recent times, tourism has contributed to the realisation of the resolutions of the Central and local governments in building and developing the city.
With great efforts of the entire political system, business community and people, Da Nang is affirming its brand as a leading tourist destination in the region and the world, with many prestigious domestic and international awards. In particular, it was honored two times by the World Tourism Organisation (WTA) as “Asia's Leading Festival & Event Destination” in 2016 and 2022, and was praised by many international magazines.
Promoting the development of high-quality services
Chairman of the Da Nang Hotel Association cum General Director of Furama Resort Danang Nguyen Duc Quynh said that recent years have witnessed the fierce competition between domestic and regional destinations because tourism always requires new products to avoid boredom for tourists. A product must stimulate tourists to come, want to experience and explore. He, therefore, stressed the need for the city to add new products, iconic and memorable works.
In recent years, aside from renewing existing products, Da Nang has regularly introduced new works and products to the market, including the attraction of the Golden Bridge and the festivals that are regularly performed at Sun World Ba Na Hills; the return of the annual Da Nang International Fireworks Festival; and new products at the Da Nang Downtown entertainment area.
Additionally, resorts have invested in additional infrastructure, organise large-scale music events with thousands of guests such as at the Ariyana International Convention Palace, and raise the level of festivals.
The breakthrough in products has created momentum for Da Nang tourism to develop, greatly contributing to the city's economic growth structure in the right direction for the tourism and service industries.
Director of the municipal Department of Tourism Truong Thi Hong Hanh acknowledged that in order to maintain and promote tourism development in 2025, the tourism industry has set eight key tasks, with focus on removing difficulties and obstacles to implement three breakthroughs to promote the city's tourism development including tourism products, markets; expanding flight routes, stimulating tourism; and enhancing service quality and quality of human resources serving tourism.
At the same time, importance should be attached to continuing to ensure a safe and secure tourism environment; implementing planning and key development orientations of the industry according to the development orientation to 2030, vision to 2045; and improving service quality and developing tourism human resources, aiming for "high quality" standard services, she added.
"By focusing on implementing the abovementioned key tasks, in 2025, Da Nang tourism aims to serve nearly 10.9 million guests to accommodation establishments, an increase of nearly 6% compared to 2024, equal to 135% compared to 2019", Ms. Hanh emphasised.
