Da Nang transport sector strives to complete and start many key projects
Based on the results achieved in 2024, Da Nang’s transport sector strives to achieve the maximum rate in many fields in 2025.

Director of the municipal Department of Transport Bui Hong Trung said that last year, the department completed the goals and targets for digital transformation with a high rate of online handling of administrative procedures such as roads, inland waterways, vehicle registration, and management of transport infrastructure construction activities.
The municipal Department of Transport was ranked 3rd by the People's Committee in the application of information technology and digital transformation in the category of departments, branches and sectors.
In particular, many programmes and projects on the application and development of information technology, and the building of a smart city were effectively implemented. The Department was honoured with a Certificate of Merit from the municipal People’s Committee for outstanding achievements in implementing the Smart City Building Project during the 2020-2024 period.
The Department of Transport is continuing to implement the investment project to build a smart traffic monitoring and control system that was approved by the municipal People's Committee in late July 2024. The project is expected to be completed and put into use in 2026.
According to Mr. Bui Hong Trung, in 2025, the local transport sector strives to effectively implement the Urban Transport Sector Plan in Da Nang to 2030, with a vision to 2045, as well as invest in the construction of synchronous and modern traffic infrastructure, in which coordination with investors and project management units to prioritise the handling of documents and removing obstacles to ensure timely completion and commencement of key traffic projects to celebrate major holidays in 2025.
Notable among these projects will be the Quang Da bridge and approach road project; a section of the Western Ring Road through the Concentrated Information Technology Park; and the projects to renovate and upgrade inner-city roads in Thanh Khe, Lien Chieu and Ngu Hanh Son districts.
At the same time, the department will direct relevant units to promptly complete investment preparation procedures, and speed up the implementation of main and inter-regional connecting roads according to the planning, the western ring roads, the extended Nguyen Sinh Sac Street, a 30m section from Ngo Quyen Street to Le Tan Trung Street, the traffic route connecting Tuyen Son - Tuy Loan riverside road with National Highway 14B, the route connecting Tuyen Son - Tuy Loan road with Cau Do - Tuy Loan road, the expansion of the route from Tuy Loan Market to National Highway 14G, the intersection of Le Thanh Nghi - Cach Mang Thang Tam - Thang Long - road leading to Hoa Xuan bridge, tunnel through the airport, and traffic routes connecting Lien Chieu port with the Free Trade Zone.
The department will also closely work with central ministries and branches to implement key and inter-regional traffic projects, in which striving to complete the projects on the development of shared infrastructure of Lien Chieu mega-port project (phase 1); the renovation and upgrading of National Highway 14B; the Hoa Lien - Tuy Loan expressway; upgrading National Highway 14B section running through Da Nang; building cargo terminal with a capacity of 100,000 tonnes of cargo/year and expanding Terminal T1 - Da Nang International Airport.
Efforts will be made to select investors to carry out overall investment and manage, exploit and operate Lien Chieu Port; and speed up the implementation of shared infrastructure for the Lien Chieu Port project (phase 2), the relocation of the city’s railway station.
