Da Nang welcomes nearly 3,000 first New Year visitors

On Wednesday (January 1), the Department of Tourism organised a series of activities to welcome nearly 3,000 first domestic and international visitors to Da Nang by sea and air on the first day of 2025.

At the Tien Sa Port, representatives of the Department of Tourism welcomed and presented flowers, souvenirs and experience vouchers to nearly 2,000 European and American tourists on the Noordam cruise ship to the city.

The Noordam cruise ship is one of four ships in the Vista Class of Holland American Line. The 285.29m long ship has 11 floors serving 924 rooms in total. It also offers tourists a classy experience with restaurants, spas, swimming pools, and a variety of entertainment activities.

Departing from Singapore on December 22, 2024, the Noordam cruise ship passed through Thailand and Cambodia before arriving in Viet Nam.

In Da Nang, the passengers visited famous destinations such as the Marble Mountains, Linh Ung Son Tra Pagoda, Museum of Cham Sculpture and My Khe Beach, and explored the city with a cyclo tour. The ship will leave the Tien Sa Port at 8:00 pm on January 1.

Meanwhile, the municipal Department of Tourism in coordination with the Da Nang International Airport and the Da Nang International Terminal Investment and Operation JSC organised an art performance and gave away 1,000 vouchers to the first air passengers to the city.

On the first day of 2025, Da Nang International Airport received 125 flights, of which 57 were international flights.

From December 28, 2024 to January 1, 2025 alone, Da Nang International Airport welcomed more than 600 flights, up more than 15% over the same period.
