Ensuring supply network of goods
Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuong, the owner of Thuong grocery store at the Con Market, said that she has started importing some items with Tet designs such as boxed cakes, candies, jams, dried seeds, dried seafood, stewed products, etc. The prices of cakes, candies, jams have increased by about 2-10% compared to last year, whilst the price of melon seeds is stable.
Meanwhile, distributors and retailers have planned to prepare goods many months ago.
Mr. Phan Thong, Director of the Co.opmart Da Nang supermarket, predicts that the purchasing power at the end of the year and Tet 2025 will increase by about 5-10% compared to the same period. Therefore, the supermarket focuses on market stabilisation groups including rice, sugar, cooking oil, pork, poultry, poultry eggs, processed foods, vegetables, tubers, fruits and seafood; along with food, non-food items, confectionery and beverage.
"We believe that the group of goods serving ordinary workers will consume strongly, so we promote the supply of goods at lower prices than daily prices," said Mr. Thong.
According to the municipal Department of Industry and Trade, distribution units and enterprises citywide have fully prepared goods to satisfy people's shopping needs during the 2025 Lunar New Year. The total value of reserves of essential goods such as rice and sticky rice of all kinds; meat of all kinds; dried and canned goods (dried beef, dried squid, dried fish, etc.); confectionery, jam, melon seeds; vegetables, tubers and fruits is estimated at about VND 2,800 billion.
Mr. Diep Hoang Thong Anh, Deputy Director of the Da Nang Market Management and Development Company, said that the company has sent a document requesting the affiliated market management boards to strengthen the management and monitoring of goods, and stabilise essential goods in the last months of the year and the 2025 Lunar New Year.
Accordingly, the affiliated market management boards must proactively stabilise the market and supervise goods at the market. Business households are requested to strictly implement regulations on price listing and sell goods at listed prices, and not to spread false rumors causing shortages of goods and market instability.
Stimulating shopping demand
The Da Nang Department of Industry and Trade said that plans to ensure the supply of goods and stabilise the market of essential food items during the end of the year and the 2025 Lunar New Year have been completed.
The unit has connected distribution businesses and essential food suppliers to create a source of goods to stabilise the market for Tet; as well as worked with relevant units to transport goods to rural and mountainous communes in Hoa Vang District and industrial parks and clusters in the city.
In addition, the Department has mobilised supermarkets, businesses, and distribution units in the city to organise price stabilization points/booths at their business locations with reasonable prices.
In particular, from now until Tet, the municipal Department of Industry and Trade continues to organise trade promotion programmes to stimulate shopping demand. Attention will be paid to control goods traded in online environments such as e-commerce platforms, websites, social networks such as Facebook and TikTok.
