In 2025, the Management Board of the Marble Mountains special national-level relic site sets a target of welcoming about 1.8 million domestic and international visitors.

However, to maximize the potential of this popular tourist attraction, Mr. Nguyen Van Hien, tge Head of the Management Board underlined the early implementation of inland waterway tourism products, including inland waterway wharves X5 and X6 at the K20 monument and the Quan The Am Pagoda.

Once inland waterway wharves X5 and X6 are formed, visitors can visit the the Marble Mountains more fully. When the X5 and X6 routes are connected, the K20 Revolutionary Base and the the Marble Mountains complex will be closely linked.

Wharf X6 is located near the ‘Ben Ngu’ area - the ancient relic where King Minh Mang stopped his boat to visit the Marble Mountains. From this point, visitors can visit the famous Quan The Am Pagoda, the Quan The Am cave, the Buddhist Museum, the Pho Da Son Pagoda, Huyen Vi Cave, and visit Thuy Son complex.

In addition, when the internal waterway connects with Hoi An in neighbouring province of Quang Nam, it creates favourable conditions for tourists to connect between a vibrant city and a quiet city with ancient space; and at the same time, connecting the Marble Mountains scenic relic, the K20 relic with multi-dimensional culture will be a new experience for tourists when coming to Central Viet Nam.

Vice Chairman of the Lien Chieu District People’s Committee Nguyen Nhuong said that the approved project on developing inland waterway tourism in the city by 2030, with a vision toward 2045, identifies the development of inland waterway tourism in Lien Chieu District, Da Nang in the 2024 - 2030 period, specifically with the Cu De River - Truong Dinh River tourism route.

This route is oriented to develop in the western eco-tourism space of the city with the areas of Lang Van, Khe Ram and the reservoir combined with tourism services, the area south of the Bac River, connecting along the Cu De River and tourist spots along the river and Hon Chao.

With regard to the development of waterway tourism routes, the Cu De River tourism routes to Da Nang Bay - Hon Chao - Son Tra Peninsula will be developed, and the waterway tourism route on the Cu De River connecting Hoa Vang District will be opened, in association with ecological, agricultural and rural sites.

Ms. Truong Thi Hong Hanh, the Director of the Da Nang Department of Tourism urged solutions to develop inland waterway tourists, specifically dredging and clearing the waterway at the project ‘Hoa Quy - Dong No Riverside Urban Area’, and exploiting the wharf west of the Nguyen Van Troi Bridge (Y7).

At the same time, it is a need to continue to call for investment in building the Han River Port (Y6) and upgrading the Han River cruise port area (Y5) into a large-scale specialized tourist port; supporting businesses and units to expand the inland waterway route of Son Tra Peninsula and Hon Chao.

In 2025, the city’s tourism industry will continue to implement key projects according to the roadmap such as the plan for the development of inland waterway tourism in Da Nang by 2030, with a vision toward 204, remove difficulties and obstacles of projects, help to unlock resources for early investment and create new tourism products and services.

“We are committed to continuing to work with departments, districts, and related units to find solutions to exploit the city’s tourism potential, strive to achieve the goal of sustainable tourism growth and make important contributions to the city's economic development, affirming the brand of Da Nang - a unique, safe and hospitable destination”, Ms. Truong Thi Hong Hanh emphasised.
