The ‘Da Nang - City of Innovation’ project aims to build Da Nang into a large, ecological, smart, unique, sustainable city; an international tourism centre associated with an international event centre; a hi-tech industrial and IT centre; a startup and innovation center, a regional-scale financial centre.

As for its specific goals by 2030, the city will upgrade its innovation ecosystem to international standards, build unique and outstanding mechanisms, promote the development of a network of innovation and startup experts, and double the number of innovation and startup consultants as compared to 2025.

At least 200 innovative startup projects and 100 innovative startup enterprises will be supported for development. Investment capital in creative startups and creative startup projects in Da Nang will increase by about VND 6,000 billion - VND 7,000 billion (equivalent to US$300 million) compared to 2025.

The city will encourage the establishment of creative startup investment funds, attract 3 - 5 more venture capital funds to set up representative offices here, ensure that 100% of startup projects will have the opportunity to access creative startup courses, gradually bring startup education and creative startups to high schools.

The number of trademark registration applications will increase by an average of 10%/year. Over 90% of products will participate in the OCOP (One Commune - One Product) Programme. Products of science and technology enterprises; typical commercial products; typical rural industrial products; supporting industrial products; agricultural products of cooperatives and craft villages will be supported to register for protection of industrial property rights, codes and barcodes.

The city will form a digital economy that provides the best services for economic activities and innovation. At least 10 digital products will be applied to local economic development. Centers and networks to promote green transformation and green growth associated with the Net zero goal will be formed.

The above-mentioned project also sets out 6 priority areas to focus on encouraging innovation, including information and communication technology (ICT); hi-tech industry, green technology; biotechnology and healthcare, circular economy, marine economy and logistics services; smart tourism; creative industry.

The total cost of the project is more than VND 65 billion.
