Da Nang diversifies nighttime entertainment, service activities to attract tourists
Nighttime entertainment programmes are being implemented to meet the needs of tourists. The municipal administration assigned relevant agencies to continue implementing many effective solutions to develop the local night-time economy.

Diversifying entertainment and recreation activities
Appearing at the end of 2016, after nearly 10 years of operation, the Charming Da Nang programme organised by the Sao Hoang Nguyen Company Limited performed at the City Labour Culture House has become one of the nighttime art products known to many tourists.
According to Mr. Hoang Xuan Van, the Deputy Director of Sao Hoang Nguyen Company Limited, compared to the first days of its launch, the programme has maintained 11 main performances in about 60 minutes including songs, dances, and performances of traditional musical instruments.
The highlights are Cham dance, traditional ‘ao dai’, Chau Van singing staged by leading Vietnamese artistes. “Charming Da Nang’s main customers are the South Korean, Taiwanese (Chinese) and Chinese markets. The programme is still performed regularly every day. We also constantly make adjustments to each performance to improve the artistic quality and attract tourists,” Mr. Van shared.
In addition to Charming Da Nang, the programmes “Ao Dai Show” by VKSTAR, Hon Viet (The Viet Soul) by Nguyen Hien Dinh Tuong Theatre have contributed to creating unique features for the city’s entertainment services in recent times.
In 2025, entertainment activities will continue to be vibrant when units deploy a number of new programmes such as the musical dance “Tien Sa” organised by the Trung Vuong Theater in coordination with S-Talent Viet Nam Talent Investment and Development Joint Stock Company; ‘Ba Na By Night’ of Sun World Ba Na Hills Tourist Area.
As reported by a representative of the Sun World Ba Na Hills Tourist Area, ‘Ba Na By Night’ is a unique night-time tourism product, enhancing the experience for visitors when coming to Da Nang.
In particular, art programmes and shows performed by international dancers with vibrant music create a festive atmosphere on top of Ba Na.
The most attractive is the show ‘Lipsync Battle’ with performances of disguise and "lip-sync" singing of classic songs, performed by transgender artists and international dancers, artists and DJs...
Promoting the night-time economy
According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoi An, the Deputy Director of the Da Nang Department of Culture and Sports, her agency has directed its affiliated units to make efforts to light up the stage to serve both locals and tourists.
The performing arts programmes that have made an impression will continue to be implemented along with new programmes, thereby contributing to creating a unique product for Da Nang tourism.
Director of the Da Nang Department of Tourism Truong Thi Hong Hanh acknowledged that night tourism has recently received attention and investment from the city’s administration and businesses.
In 2024, local relevant agencies organised the opening of Bach Dang walking street and night tourism services at the park on the east bank of Nguyen Van Troi Bridge; increased the frequency of organising fire and water spraying performances at the ‘Rong’ (Dragon) Bridge; allowed Han River experience programmes to operate until 1:00 a.m. on holidays and at Tet.
The Da Nang tourism industry will coordinate with relevant units to encourage and create favourable conditions to support tourist areas to organise night-time tourism products to serve visitors; organise night programmes at museums, the Dien Hai citadel, Ngu Hanh Son scenic spot (sightseeing, 3D Mapping lighting, art performances).
The Da Nang People’s Committee also has a policy to focus on implementing and promoting projects to attract investment, develop tourism, and night-time economy in the following projects: complex of works serving the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival; thematic park, culture, entertainment combined with trade and services southeast of the Memorial - Phase 2; the River of Light; large-scale commercial centres at the TTC Plaza project and the MM Mega Market...
According to the night-time economic development project, relevant agencies will coordinate with the district-level People’s Committees to continue to effectively operate the Son Tra and Helio night markets, expand the scope of activities of the An Thuong tourist street, the Bach Dang walking street, organise culinary and entertainment services in the corner of Nhu Nguyet and Chuong Duong streets; invest and coordinate with other units to form a night-time beach area combined with night entertainment services (Xuan Thieu, Nam O area...) including: bars, cafes, food and drink; sea sports; night camping, welcoming the dawn; art programmes about fishermen, the Nam O fish sauce village... along Nguyen Tat Thanh coastal road.
The city is also studying investment plans to upgrade the existing Tho Quang seafood wholesale market, the Thanh Khe seafood market and some large seafood trading markets to combine activities such as buying and enjoying on-site cuisine like the seafood market model of South Korea, Thailand, experiencing the daily life of coastal people to serve tourists at night...
