Specifically, Da Nang became the most searched city by US tourists in January 2025, surpassing Tokyo (Japan) and Bangkok (Thailand). The number of searches from US tourists about Da Nang increased dramatically by 1,538% compared to the same period in 2024, recording the most impressive growth among the top destinations.

In 2024, Agoda data showed that the top 5 cities searched by US tourists were Tokyo, Bangkok, Seoul (South Korea), Manila (Philippines) and Hong Kong (China). However, in January 2025, Da Nang entered the top 5 cities of interest to North American tourists.

Not only Da Nang, Viet Nam in general is also becoming the most searched destination for US tourists. According to Agoda data, Viet Nam has risen to the No. 1 position in the list of most interesting destinations for US tourists in 2024, up from No. 4 in 2023 and surpassing Japan.

The number of accommodation searches from the US in 2024 climbed up by 174% compared to the previous year. This strong growth was also in line with the strategy of the Vietnamese Government, which currently aims to welcome 1.3 million US tourists by 2028 and put the US in the top 3 markets sending visitors to Viet Nam.

In addition, US tourists are currently Viet Nam’s second largest tourist source market, only behind South Korea, according to accommodation search data on Agoda.
