The Da Nang People's Committee and the Thuan Phuoc Bay Urban Investment JSC held a groundbreaking ceremony on Friday for the Thuan Phuoc - Da Nang New Urban Area project to mark the 50^th anniversary of the liberation of the city (March 29, 1975 - March 29, 2025).

The event was attended by Secretary of the Party Committee Nguyen Van Quang, Chairman of the Viet Nam Fatherland Front Committee of the city Le Van Trung, Permanent Vice Chairman of the municipal People's Council Tran Phuoc Son, and Vice Chairman of the People's Committee Le Quang Nam.

Located in Nai Hien Dong and Tho Quang wards in Son Tra District, the Thuan Phuoc - Da Nang New Urban Area project covers an area of more than 97 hectares. It is invested by Thuan Phuoc Bay Urban Investment JSC with a total investment capital of nearly VND 11,500 billion.

The modern urban area will feature many outstanding functional zones, including luxury villas, bustling shophouses, convenient high-rise apartments, commercial centre, 5-6 star hotels, shopping streets, and high-class cuisine and entertainment services.

Additionally, there will be a system of public utilities including schools, hospitals, sports centres, and community living areas in a bid to fully meet the needs of residents.

As part of the project, a large internal park that harmoniously combines urban architecture and natural landscape will be built. The 16.5ha thematic park will be inspired by the whale worship custom, a typical cultural feature of the central coastal region, promising to become an international highlight.

Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, Vice Chairman of the Da Nang People's Committee Le Quang Nam emphasised that Da Nang is emerging as a modern, dynamic and livable city. With the orientation of developing into an international financial, commercial and service centre, the city has been concentrating on developing infrastructure, and attracting strategic projects, especially smart and sustainable urban areas, thereby opening a new era for the development of Da Nang.

The Thuan Phuoc - Da Nang New Urban Area is not only an ideal place to live but also an attractive tourist, commercial and entertainment destination, contributing to enhancing the position of Da Nang on the regional and world map.

Vice Chairman of the municipal People's Committee Le Quang Nam pledged to continue to create the most favourable conditions for the project to be implemented smoothly, ensuring progress and efficiency.

Mr. Truong Dinh Trung, General Director of the Thuan Phuoc Bay Urban Investment JSC, said that the project is designed with large green spaces, applying modern technology in a bid to minimise environmental impacts and adapt to climate change. Enterprises always put sustainability first.

"We are committed to carry out the project on schedule, ensuring the highest quality, and turning Thuan Phuoc - Da Nang New Urban Area into a vibrant centre and an ideal destination for residents, tourists and investors", Mr. Trung noted.

With a methodical planning and sustainable development orientation, the Thuan Phuoc - Da Nang New Urban Area is expected to become a new urban symbol in the city, thereby attracting a large number of residents and investors at home and abroad.
