In recent years, Da Nang has completed a modern, synchronous infrastructure system along with a professional, high-quality tourism service facility system. Notably, the attraction of strategic investors such as Sun Group, Vingroup, DHC, BRG Group and Mikazuki has significantly contributed to changing the face of Da Nang tourism. The central coastal city has many international-class tourism brands and famous resorts such as InterContinental, Novotel, Hyatt, Vinpearl, Pullman, Hilton, Sheraton, and Ba Na Hills.
In 2011, the whole city had only 260 accommodation establishments providing a total of 8,736 rooms. The figures increased to 693 accommodation establishments with 28,780 rooms in 2017, and 1,290 accommodation establishments with 46,527 rooms in late 2024.
In 2024 alone, the city witnessed the construction and operation of a number of 5-star hotels, apartments, and coastal resorts such as Radisson RED Danang, Signature by M Village Danang Heritage, Fusion Resort & Villas Danang, and Crowne Plaza Danang City Centre.
This year, many large-scale projects are set to start construction, including the Lang Van resort and entertainment complex, the Asia Park Complex, and the international fireworks complex.

Mr. Cao Tri Dung, Chairman of the Da Nang Tourism Association, acknowledged that the city possessed all four types of railways, roads, airways, and waterways, creating advantages in trade, tourism, and logistics fields. The city also boasted top-notch accommodation infrastructure and tourism services in Viet Nam and Asia.
In the future, the Tien Sa Port will become a tourist port, whilst free trade zones, and regional and international financial centres, will be established in the city, all facilitating the formation of high-quality, reputable shopping centres to serve tourists.
He, however, underlined a must do for the city to have specific policies and mechanisms to attract investment in tourism development and compete with localities and countries in the region.
Regarding infrastructure investment, the city has issued many policies and strategies for tourism development, including decisions and plans to create a foundation to improve the quality of accommodation facilities and invest in infrastructure for the tourism industry.
Notable among them are Decision No. 190/QD-UBND dated January 17, 2020 of the Da Nang People's Committee on approving the project on orientation for the development of the tourism accommodation system in the city during the 2020-2030 period; and Plan No. 2984/KH-UBND dated May 7, 2020 of the municipal People's Committee on implementing the topic "Focusing on developing high-quality tourism and services associated with resort real estate; building Da Nang into a leading tourism and service destination in the region, a city of events, and an international conference centre".
Implementing Resolution No. 82/NQ-CP dated May 18, 2023 of the Government on key tasks and solutions to accelerate the effective and sustainable tourism development in Da Nang, lots of public investment projects will be carried out in the city such as the River of Light project, landscape investment on both sides of the Han River, and along the routes of Nguyen Tat Thanh, Hoang Sa - Vo Nguyen Giap - Truong Sa, and Bach Dang - Nguyen Van Troi - Tran Hung Dao Walking Street.
At the same time, efforts are being made to conduct investment promotion activities, appeal for more investment in tourism infrastructure projects, high-end resorts, entertainment complexes, golf courses, large-scale exhibition, conference centres, trade centres, and retail services to attract domestic and international tourists. Heed will be on removing difficulties for investors, as well as researching mechanisms to increase land use efficiency to facilitate the implementation of key and dynamic projects to create tourism products in the right direction.
Da Nang is striving to become a high-quality tourism and service centre and a destination for innovation in Viet Nam and Southeast Asia by 2030. It targets to turn itself into a leading tourist destination in Asia, and one of the centres for high-end, creative, green, smart, eco-tourism; sea resort tourism; and international conferences, events and festivals.
